While this looks like a "Fuck this dude in particular" moment, I think there's a reason for this.

Simply put?  The lightning strike grounded through the sewage line.

The building appears to be under construction.  Usually this isn't a big deal since there's usually some exposed structural steel at the top to attract the lightning strikes.  But is the building's structure was entirely reinforced concrete?  And if the structural work on the top was finished?  And they hadn't put up a lightning rod?  Yeeaaaahhhh, I can see this happening.
