As a child of the 90's I shall instead offer a different rebuttal.

I do not mind the amount of Star Wars, of Star Trek, of D&D, of anime, nor the super heroes.

I mind the shit quality. Not that the quality then was better, necessarily, you just generally remember the ones that were good or really, really shit, not the dross that ranged from okay to crap.
