Alicia lays her head on the table and groans. "I am baby, I do not need home work."
Sitting around her was her mother, her sister and Noelle from the apartment upstairs, all doing their best to help.
Sera sighed. "You keep falling over in class, acting dead and getting rushed to the nurses office, it's no wonder it is piling up."
Alicia snickered. "I can't believe it worked more than once."
Noelle sips her tea and takes a bite from her muffin. "Worked so well, I hear the school wants your mother to take you to a specialist.... You are making people worry with this."
The demonette looks over. "Not my fault school is boring lectures and leering eyes... Gah just kill me."
Noelle shook her head. "Out of bullets, but we do have muffins."
"Are they poisoned?"
Noelle takes a bite of her muffin. "No, this batch is clear."
Alicia groaned again. "This is all just repetition, they don't want us to learn, they just want us to repeat what we are told."
Sera coughed. "So the education system is the same here as in Praetoria."
Noelle stifled a laugh.
Sera put a hand on her daughter's shoulder. "I paid a lot of money to get you into that school."
Alicia cocked her head. "So I am an investment?"
"An investment in hope, for a brighter future."
"Ma you make me sound like a magical girl."
Lief who had been quite up to this point, lowers her muffin, face covered in crumbs, stars in her eyes. "My baby sister is a magical girl?"
Sera laughed. "Well she did come from an arcane ritual, so technically yes."
Alicia buried her head in her arms. "All I need is a frilly skirt and a talking animal....."
