In the first place, it turns out I was wrong about The Crisis Convergence of Countless Captain Carrots! being complete.

In the second, as noted elsewhere, the soft animal of your body (Leverage AU with His Dark Materials daemons) in general, and specifically the backstory tale now that you're choosing this, has updated after literal yonks.

Just the big crowd scene for now, but I might add more later.

His decision to leave, well....
Notes:
Um, hi. I wrote this....like, four years ago, and kept second-guessing myself on posting it because I was unsure about the religion stuff here, but I have finally decided to just stop pretending it's going to get better and post it already. So, disclaimer: I am not Catholic. I am not Christian. Most of the theology discussed here I got from growing up in a culturally Christian society, plus some stuff from His Dark Materials where they talk about daemons and the Garden of Eden. I was interested in exploring what drew Nate to the clergy and what drove him away from it, not to mention how he ended up as an insurance investigator, but I am not making any broad statements about clerical work at all. Please assume that if I got anything stupendously wrong about Catholicism, it's because Catholic dogma developed differently in a world with daemons.
