Aura spent her early years running and hiding from her mother, until a fishing boat came to the island, Aura was rescued by the fishermen who fled Ray'je's wrath and was brought to mainland Japan where she was adopted out.... But the spectre of Ray'je haunted Aura, causing her to shift from family to family until she was old enough to support her self and flee Japan to America.
She felt safe in America, even if she stuck out like a sore thumb and for a while, she was happy..... But Gir convinced her to get a heroes licence, putting her name in the computer system and someone that wanted to cause trouble leaked this info to Ray'je.
The Oni mother came to Paragon to kill her daughter and erase the shame of her, but Gir fought back with a team of Heroes. Leading Ray'je to Boomtown where they finally knocked her out and shoved her in Richesman's old prison.
Aura stayed in Paragon... But fears Ray'je escaping and killing her new friends... Gir goes and talks to Ray'je semi regularly to try and convince the Oni that there is no shame in Aura, who is strong in her own way.
