The other half of it is that Trump also wants to make big military spending cuts, so I think what he really wants is a humiliating trade deal. Just like the humiliating deal he wants with Ukraine's minerals -- I mean, for fuck's sake, all Zelensky had to do was "find" the dirt on Hunter Biden and everything would be fine, but now Trump has to teach Z a lesson about loyalty.
