Fanfic Recommendations: The Next Generation

Tinker, Taylor, Builder, Nexus is a Worm alt-power where Taylor wakes up in an abandoned abasement three months after Winslow caught fire om the first day back from winter break, sleeved in a heavily damaged arachnoid orbital construction synth from Eclipse Phase. The first two or three chapters from her perspective or featuring her dialogue are heavily zalgo'ed and next to incomprehensible with text to speech as that leaves them a long string of single letters and called-out dieresis marks, but since the point of it was her being confused and overwhelmed by error messages and corrupted input or hard to understand, it wasn't something I couldn't get past, and the rest of the story is reasonably good, if not anything other tinker fics haven't done before. It does at least get through the Leviathan incident and into a relatively positive rebuilding stage in the aftermath before updates stopped late Jan 2025, so there's that too. It's a mild recommendation and not likely to go in my reread pile, but also not something I regret the time to read end to end and there are some nice character and group dynamics moments. 180k words in 32 threadmarks
