Let's start with this one.  There are too many photos in this thread of Asuka when she was angry.  Here is a happy Asuka with Rei and me, playing in the surf on the beach across from our residence. 



Since we arrived in Refuge, Rei has loosened up a lot.  You'd never see her this expressive -- or just having fun! -- back in Tokyo-3.

Talking about having fun, here's Kensuke and Toji at a game store a few miles away learning something called "War Hammer", I think it is?



Some of the adults relaxing -- Misato-san and Kaji-san like to sit on the balcony of Kaji-san's apartment with Jayne-san and talk while drinking beer together.



More of the adults relaxing -- this time it's Ritsuko-sensei, Inara-san, Maya-san and Kaylee-san, taken by Zoe-san, who also took the picture of Asuka, Rei and me.  Kaylee-san says if I'm going to use an honorific for her at all I should use "-chan" because she's really not that much older than we are, but I don't feel right about that.  I can barely bring myself to use it with Washuu-chan, and Washuu-chan will drop a planet on my head if I don't!



And I'm so jealous of Inara-san -- she's one of those people who get beautiful deep tans almost instantly.  Her and Azusa in New Jersey -- it's so unfair!

Well, I suppose I can contribute a little there as my first task after lunch.  I can't really show you "the residence" as a single thing, as we're like nearly 40 buildings spread out over a few acres -- we used to be a villa-style resort, so most of them are these standalone four-bedroom units. 

Anyway, here I am, at the sign for the resort that our residence used to be, like ten or fifteen years ago.  Updating it is *not* going to be on our "to do" list any time soon, as we've got way too much to do with basically rebuilding the entire resort by hand to waste time or money on a sign.

Before we move on, though, I just have to add my dream title to this photo:

"Welcome to Fantasy Island!"



Now even though we have the main building all fixed up and usable, I usually spend my days here as the place's combination front desk and sales clerk.  The original resort maps just called it "Da Store", and we kept the name, mostly because we didn't have the time to come up with something else.  The guy I'm chatting with is Kapono, our manager.  He's also our one-man construction team -- once we had a bare minimum of buildings up and running thanks to Washuu-chan he decided he was going to do the rest by himself, with occasional help on big jobs from a bunch of guys he used to work construction with.  I like him.  He's cool.  A little intense at times, but cool.



This is just a shot I took of Lilo & Stitch (you know, that would make a great movie title ) coming down one of the stairs to the beach.  We have some really nice beachfront as part of the residence's land.



And this, I think, might be a first in any of the photo threads:  pictures of Celestials!  Te Fiti lives here at Kaluakoi, and Novalis visits her a lot.  I grabbed this shot one of the last times she came by.



Finally... this guy just showed up in the middle of the complex last week.  He said his name was Ryouga Hibiki and that, technically, he lives at the Anything Goes Cafe in Nova Scotia, but it'd been a few weeks since the last time he'd been there.  He says he gets lost a lot?  Given he was looking at a map of Iceland when we found him, I can believe that.  He told me that whenever he finds himself at a residence he asks to use the portal to go back to the Cafe, but he never seems to stay there long.  Anyone else ever see him?

Oh!  Ryouga comes by Douglass Gardens every couple-three weeks.  We make sure someone is holding onto his arm, drag him into the community center or one of our apartments, and give him lots of food -- both fresh meals and stuff he can keep in his pack for the road.  He's a good friend.

She's a Goddess. (Technically she's a trainee, but that's because she's still young. Yes, I know she looks older than I do, but George Eliot said back in the 1800s that "one mustn’t judge by the outside.” And you can thank Urd for that trivium; she was looking over my shoulder while I typed this.)

Ryouga's such a nice guy, and he's so shy around girls.  And he and Mamo-chan get along so well -- they sometimes spar when he comes by, Mamo-chan with his fencing and Ryouga using his iron cloth thing on his belt.  I think they both like having another guy around to do guy things with.

I took this picture the last time Ryouga came by Blossom.  Mamoru wasn't around, so some of us girls got together to take him to Colonnade Pizza over on Bank Street, not very far from us.  We have to gang up on him like this to keep him from getting lost -- we don't let him go anywhere without at least one of us holding onto his arm, and if we can manage it, two of us.

Did you know he has a fuzzy headband he wears instead of his bandanna in cold weather?  I didn't!

Ryouga first showed up here in Montreal just a couple days after we arrived at the Appartements.  We found him in one of the storerooms off the cafe kitchen, convinced he was in Pennsylvania Station in New York City and looking for the Long Island Railroad concourse.  (Apparently he thought he could take one of their trains back to Antigonish?)  I recognized him right away -- "Ranma 1/2" is an old favorite and I knew the others from it were in Nova Scotia -- so we let him know where he was and fed him a good lunch.  Before he disappeared on us (while walking between rooms, no less), we actually got him to spar with Saber using a pair of bokken we'd picked up.  He didn't think using his belt with his iron cloth technique was safe for sparring with her what with Saber not wanting to spar with her sword (because it's not an ordinary sword but part of her powers as a heroic spirit).  One experimental swing showed that depleted uranium umbrella of his could bowl Saber over without much effort, too, so weaker matching weapons was the only way to go.

Naturally I played referee, and took this picture while I did:



Actually, I took quite a few others, but this was pretty much the only one where one or both of them weren't blurs.

We first encountered Ryouga in Atlanta in mid-December, the 18th if I recall correctly.  Yuichi spotted him while on some personal business in CNN Center across the street from the Theatre.  He recognized him from the briefing we all got on the other displacees, and let us know he was in Atlanta:



While Maria and I hurried over, he followed Ryouga out to the street and kept us informed about his location until we intercepted him.  (I'm of the opinion that the cellphone is the single most useful piece of Refuge technology we have yet to come across.)    When we finally met Ryouga on the sidewalk outside of CNN Center's entrance, we identified ourselves and asked if he needed any assistance.  While Ryouga admitted he was lost, he insisted that all he really needed was to know where he was so that he could recognize it when he inevitably made his way back here.  We let him know that the Theatre was a residence on the network, and just as Pelekai-san reports, he asked if he could use our portal to return to Antigonish.  We of course agreed.  I took this photo while we spoke with him:



Actually getting him across the street to the Theatre was quite the challenge!  It's almost as though he has an anti-homing sense.

Usagi's right -- Ryouga's a sweet guy, and girls in the numbers both Blossom and Aria House have *definitely* make him nervous.   We first ran into him in late September, just a few days after we moved in.  Chiyo and I stumbled on his clothes and backpack next to one of the canals and sure enough, there was a little black piglet nearby.  That strange yellow duckling that we see around the canals, the one who looks like it's trying to dance every once in a while, was with him, almost protectively guarding him.  We introduced ourselves to Ryouga and told him we'd get him some hot water, and gathered up his stuff -- but not before we convinced him (and the duckling!) to let us take a couple pictures first.  (Because, come on, I may be a cynic but even I recognize how adorable they were.)



Of course, Chiyo wanted her picture taken with them.  And who wouldn't?



Does anyone know anything about that duckling?  It seemed to be just as smart as Ryouga, and understood English just as well as he did, which isn't normal for Refuge, is it?  Can a duck be a displacee?

Anyway, we brought Ryouga home, got him changed back to human (and dressed), and he spent the rest of the day at Aria House with everyone.  He left after dinner, walking west into the sunset.  Because he wanted to go north-east back to Nova Scotia, of course.

We've seen him a few more times since, and once actually got him to sit on the beach with us.  (No, we were not cruel enough to drag him into the water.  And we stayed far enough up the beach that the sea spray wasn't a threat.)  And Chiyo calls him "onii-chan" now, which always makes him blush for some reason.

Hi, everypony!  I mean, everyone!  (You know, why do we say "everypony" in Equestria when there were so many other kinds of people, like griffins and dragons and zebras and changelings and -- well, lots -- who aren't ponies?  Maybe when we get back home I'll try to convince every*one* that I know to try using it instead.)

Oh, right!  Almost forgot!  We've been taking pictures here in Mississsisssisssssippiiii.  (I think I put too many letters in that but, oh well, it was my job back home to deliver letters, so, letters for you!)

And Ryouga came by here, too.  Nice to see we weren't left out!  He's so nice, although he didn't know what to do when he met me.  He asked me if I had a joo-senk-yo curse and I had to tell him I had no idea what that was.  Then he asked if I was a human and I said, "no, silly, I'm a pony, see?" and I swished my tail at him.  (Well, actually, I'm a pegasus, but to Celestia we're all her little ponies whether we have wings or horns or just hooves.)

I don't remember who took this picture, but it was the first time anyone saw Ryouga at the Manor, and they took it and sent it to all of us to ask if we knew who he was.  Isn't it strange how every*one* at the other residences knew Ryouga, but no *one* here did?  I wonder why that is?



Marty and Jennifer took him to McDonald's for lunch.  I like McDonald's -- their French fries are delicious!  And their apple pies!  And... I wonder if we can get a McDonald's in Ponyville?  Oh, and I like Marty and Jennifer, too.  But not because of their French fries.



They had some*one* else eating at the restaurant take this picture.  Marty said whoever it was recognized all three of them, but he told them they were doing something called "'cause-play", 'cause they were playing by dressing up like people from movies and TV shows. 

Now these next few pictures don't have Ryouga in them, but that's okay, because while it seems like Ryouga comes by every couple of weeks, he doesn't live here so he doesn't get to be in everything.  That's fair, right?  Okay so... pictures.  I like seeing pictures like these because the Doctor (my Doctor, not Rose's Doctor) and I don't leave the Manor as much as every*one* else because we sometimes get humans staring at us and acting all funny -- and while sometimes it's funny-laugh-at-it sometimes it's funny-strange.  But it's like Tomo said to me at Halloween, planet full of humans, nothing for ponies, so yeah, we're going to get humans who don't know what to do or think about us.  I'm getting used to it.

The little human children are always nice, though.  Which reminds me -- Tomo, we need to check up on Mason and make sure he and his friends are doing okay.

Now what was I going to... right, more pictures.  Here's Dr. Harold (we have *so* many doctors here at the Manor, I think we have more doctors than not-doctors!) and Belphebe at something called a "Renn Fair".  I think they must have met at one of these fairs, because Belphebe told me that they remind her of when Dr. Harold started courting her.  And he just got this little smile...



Now this picture is from a place a few miles away from the Manor where they have an old ship they dug out of the river a hundred years after it sank.  Which I didn't know you could do!  Bill and Ted and Joanna and Elizabeth went to look at it and took some pictures.  Elizabeth took this one, and Joanna took a few, but I don't think Bill or Ted took any.



My Doctor doesn't like Bill and Ted but I don't know why -- they're so silly and funny!  And Elizabeth and Joanna are so nice.  They act a little like Princess Luna and Princess Celestia do, especially when they're together.  Bill and Ted call the Doctor "little horse dude" and they call me "little horse dudette" which makes me laugh but the Doctor doesn't laugh, he just calls them hairless monkeys -- and then they act even sillier and make me laugh harder.

Talking about my Doctor, here he is with Rose's Doctor in the TARDIS.  Which is kind of a human version of the STABLE, only it doesn't have a crew.  And Rose's Doctor isn't really a human, he just looks like one.  And the metal floors with holes in them are hard on my hooves so I don't go in even when my Doctor is in there.  But this was one time I did go in, because I wanted to take a picture of the two of them working together.  I don't know what they were working on -- any time either Doctor tries to explain, my head starts spinning and I get all confused.  I need to get better about that.  But whatever it is, it makes them so excited and happy.



And because there was a picture of the Doctors, well, here's a picture of Rose and me.  Yes, I know it's rude to be sitting with my croup facing somepony, I mean, some*one* I'm talking to, but when Jenny took this photo Rose was wanting to see how my wings were attached to my withers, because she'd never seen a real pegasus.  It's weird that you have pegasi in your myths and stories, but not for real.  I have to wonder if I'm really the only pegasus to ever make it to Refuge.



Rose and I get along great now, although like most humans she acted weird when we first met.  But we trade stories about our Doctors and the things we've done and seen with them, and we really enjoy hanging out together.  We've been watching movies and television together, too -- all your stories are new to me, and Rose says she has more than ten years of stuff to catch up on.  What's "EastEnders"?
