I feel like things have been slowing down lately out of the White House. Like over the past, say, two or three weeks Trump himself really hasn't been screwing things up so actively. Passively, sure. He did talk about awarding himself the Congressional Medal of Honor. And slept through his Board of Peace meeting, of course. I'm starting to think that this is the beginning of the end. And he is too, given how much he's been talking about getting himself into heaven. Note that his approach "doing enough for God", doesn't get the basics of Christian doctrine correct -- it's only by God's grace that we cross over, because we're all failures.
The big test here coming up is next Tuesday's State of the Union address. Can a man in the grips of dementia complete his big speech to Congress, or make any sense? In theory, his people could do it 1800s style and just send Congress a letter. But it's hard to see a man who thrives on public adulation doing that. It may be hopium, but this speech might turn out much worse than Joe Biden's disastrous debate performance. The weird thing is that I'm still not sure what comes next. We could have a circumstance where everyone agrees that the leader is mad, but are too afraid to try to remove him due to midterm elections, and blame the speech on the Democrats instead. That is in the realm of possibility. Or maybe the speech just goes okay after all?
