Not fair, but there can be so many bone-headed things that you can just plain forget about them these days. I mean, sure, why not increase demand and cut off supply for fossil fuels, is that what so many people voted for?
Remember those stickers that people affixed to gas pumps, a picture of Biden saying "I did this"? We need that sticker now, but "You did this (if you voted for Trump)"
Also the Senate is never technically out of session, so I didn't mean that. I probably meant the House on that one, literal days at work not on recess in the House.
On the other box, Congress means that the collective process for rejecting the election happened. I think that one is far less likely than it was pre-Iran War, and GOP reps are leaving Congress at a rate that suggests they're willing to accept the drubbing that's coming. Also, they're leaving for whole thing about Congressmembers feeling powerless... which tells you how fucked up our balance of power is. I'm at the point where I think the Presidency is fundamentally unsalvagable, and we should just bite the bullet and go to a parliament. Bullet biting may be literal :/
Oh, and a brief update on the excommunication one: 'Be careful.' Vance issues warning to Pope Leo when discussing theology *double facepalm* The 1000 year history of "just wars" is an indirect reference to the Crusades as just, which somehow justifies our war in Iran because reasons? Also, the history of the "just war" goes back 2500 years, to the Romans who invented the phrase casus belli, and conquered half the known world while somehow never fighting an unjustfied war. Hmm, sounds so virtuous. (Latin virtus means "manly", just like in "virility".)
