Hmmm. Rereading the posts on this thread regarding the nature of Doug's contribution to "the Symphony" abruptly brought to mind "The Music of the Ainur" from The Silmarillion -- particularly the way Melkor kept trying to add his own clashing theme, and each time, Iluvatar made it work with the rest. I don't think that's what anyone here was getting at; I was just free-associating with the music metaphor and thought, what the hell, it's sort-of worth mentioning. A little. Almost. Shutting up now.
