*grin* Thanks, guys. I'm glad you liked it. One or two notes:
The new Memory-handwavium - it doesn't culture well on most media. Minimum medium requirement is one of hazelnuts, and you only get a growth rate about half of normal on that. Minimum effective requirement is a medium of hazelnuts and rosemary, which will yield a normal growth rate.
*grin* Alternate culture medium - one of parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme. Yields a growth rate of about 75-80% of normal, but you have to play Simon and Garfunkel tunes during the growth cycle. 'Scarborough Fair' is preferred, of course, and it will take some covers of that tune as well as the one by S&G.
I've been trying to work out memory levels for the cases. I keep looking at some range in the petabytes for the small cases - 20, 50, maybe 100 petabytes. It might have been even more, but the handwavium had to spare attention to making the cases WORK. Fate's case, though, the big one....I have no clue. The mischievous side of me is tempted to set it to 1 yottabyte, and ask you all if you think that's too small...just to see the reactions. We'd be able to make money in data storage, too. It's not as if we'd run out of room. The serious side of me is almost wondering if that's reasonable, given nearly a year of effort and the amount of work in the project. Though I probably should shave it down a level or so. Still, it tempts me. Thoughts?
And just so you don't have to look up that particular prefix if you've not run into it before, it's 10^24. Or 1 quadrillion gigabytes.
