Turns out, the Squiddies have developed a reactionless speeddrive roughly identical to the most common of 'fen ships, but they _know why_ and _know how_ theirs works.
The Squiddies would have an interesting reaction to the 'Wave.

Besides, Drogn's description of them sounds like a low-gravity bauplan to me. If the next world out from their homeworld happened to be a largish one that they avoid because the gravity is dangerous and unpleasant...
More on sunlight: I would think that these wonderful sapient squidleighs would _not_ dig on the harsh bright sunlight, as it would crispify and roast their tender, delicate skin (except for the calloused, durable tentacle tips they use as manipulators).
So we've got squid, now, that are lower gravity, higher humidity, higher temperature, but can be perfectly comfortable on Earthfen ships and stations, given grav reduction (all I gotta do is ask Hermes to make it so, and adjust a few industrial processes), a heated torso cover, and a spraybottle.
