I was originally thinking early, as well (and I may stick to that), but a couple of things caused me to leave it open to interpretation. First among those
is that I wasn't really sure what to *do* with the guy -- honestly, he's such a blank because at the moment all he is is a foil for the *car*.
I'll put the finishing touches on the vehicle write-up and post it so you can see what I'm talking about, but basically, I've fleshed out the
vehicle a hell of a lot more in my head than I have the occupant.
Timeline-wise, it could be after Grover's Corners, too, but that presents its own problems -- chiefly, as I see it, the fact that while it may not be
legal, it's probably at that point pretty easy to hitch a ride. Thus I threw in the bit about cheating, etc., but that's cheating in and of itself, if
the character is to be more than a 2D cutout.
As for the vehicle, you *nailed* it. That's exactly how I was thinking of this quirk manifesting. No matter the environment, Lenny's a car and
handles like one. Including (and this would be a big recurring factor) the fact that he can't just up-and-away on his own.
Suggestions?
