Well, the original Knight Saber hardsuits did have a tendency to exaggerate the proportions of the wearer, especially the legs, or where some parts have to be able to move inside others.
One of the distinctive things about the OVA Hardsuits is that, Linna's aside which has toes, they're all solid below the Knee with a very high heel. There's no joint for the foot to flex, it's all a single unit. This makes the Leg's look pretty long.
Jet's refit version looks much the same, only it's a little longer again, with the engine exhaust coming from the heel of the boot, and a pair of NACA intakes mounted along both sides of the calf. I'd try draw it, but I'm a pretty poor artist. There's a picture of Sylia's hardsuit Here , and Jet's foot would be very similar to this. The actual calf would be longer, the engine exhaust would be mounted in the heel, and you'd be able to see one of the intakes.
Jet's wings are a little broader, and were modified to have maneouvering jets fitted at the tips when the boot thrusters were done. It gives a greater rolling and yawing moment than having them mounted on her shoulders. She also has a pair on antennae similar to Nené's suit, underneath that retract into the wings.
The armour's flexible layer is Jet's skin for the most part, but there is muscle underneath it. Her spine is specifically hard mounted to the armour. It's where absolute strength is needed, and it's where a lot of the onboard hardware interfaces with the wetware. After her boot thrusters were fitted, her knees were also fixed directly to the armour to accommodate the load. Otherwise, the muscle and flesh underneath the armour acts as a flexible coupling, allowing for a bit of play as she movies, while stopping hard shocks from being transmitted through her skeleton and shattering bones. It's better to bruise a muscle than break a bone. It also allows her to at least walk or fight back if one of the suit's actuators fails, and helps control bloodflow throughout her body. And yes, getting a chunk of armour torn off would hurt her quite a bit...
