For when Noah asks about killing the Fifteen that's inbound, presumably to back up or as the really big ass bomb the Boskonians are sending.
Jeph leaned against the one control console, sighing heavily, her eyes closed. She still hadn't changed out of her Rock Band costume from earlier, although her wig was askew on her head now. She knew, already, that Fifteen's crew was already dead except for the accidental AI. Then, she opened her eyes.
"Nene, can you patch me through to Sparky on speakerphone?" Nene nodded, glumly, and connected her phone to one of her USB interface jacks. "Sparky?"
"Yeah, chief, things are going to get hot over here, if you know what I mean?" Jeph winced as the voice had a fair bit of bravado in it, but that was just the way Sparky was. Talkative and cheerful to a fault, but not nearly as bad as Eddie the Shipboard Computer.
"Do you have any way of altering Fifteen's course?"
"No way, no how, chief. They poked around and chopped me off from the controls here. Listen, chief, I'm done for if what Nene told me is true anyway, you don't have any way of diverting the ship from the outside. It's been an honor."
Jeph hung her head down, closed her eyes, and hoped the rest of the people in the room, especially Noah, couldn't see how hard she was trying to hold in the tears. But there was no way they could save the last person aboard Fifteen, and save Serenity Valley as well.
"I understand, Sparky. May your next existence be a little less harsh than this one has." Her voice sounded husky as she forced the tears back down with some effort. Then, she looked at Noah, her eyes shimmery with unshed tears. "Do what you have to do, Noah."
