Right, nearest source of RL self-service 24hr Avgas is Ceduna airfield if you want BP, Port Augusta Airport for Mobil & Shell. In 'verse Woomera would be closer as the crow flies depending on just how it's been developed. Which it must have something happening there for it's the Australian low-rent-version of Edwards & White Sands.

Could have someone drop parachute illumination flares downwind from the track and people. So they drift away from the track when they burn out.
EDIT: What the hell am I thinking, this is fenspace. A bunch of waved RC blimps with waved LED light racks and power sources attached. They'd not take up a lot of room when stored, but provide the light needed and can keep themselves on station.
Forever Goodyear: They all have to be painted like the Goodyear blimp or they will not work.
