I think KJs posting gave me a funny idea.
Not sure we want it in Fenspace, but it would work better than the "three Battleship" idea.
What if one old superpower on Earth waves a large military ship, only to discover that they got at least at much nasty quirks per square inch as the first generation Fen hardware.
Now we suddenly have a huge and incredible expensive ship that the owner is to proud to scrap which is NOT able to do a job in "projecting force" at all because they have enough problems running straight. It might provide the other military organizations on Earth with a good example why NOT to do a project like this.
Example quirk: "When starting the engine, the crew has to sing the song 'in the navy'. All of them."
(normally not a problem, but when you have a crew of 2000 it becomes one )
(edit: this is not really a serious suggestion how we should do it, but I think it was funny enough to share it)
