[RFC]Knight Sabers in Fenspace Infinities

#21
Since we need something more than faceless suits, now for the individual Knight Sabers themselves.

Quote:Hardsuit standard pattern, based on Stingray Project.

Standard equipment.

General style matches the appearance of Bubblegum Crash-era suits.

Twin-engine backpack, stabilising wings, with maneuvering jets on the end of the wings and in the bootheels. Machined battlesteel armour, with a monofilimant-resistant outer plate. Onboard expert system, derived from the current Stingray Project version, incorporating an auto-stabiliser module and a number of other software goodies raided from the project archives. Integrated OGJ-standard encrypted comm's, radar, enhanced vision and spatial navigation systems.

High power flat-actuating linear motors are the only real obvious boost over the open-source Stingray... and are capable of matching Jet's waved performance, even with the mass of the battlesteel.

Jet uses battlesteel as the armour base despite it not being as light or resilient as the waved cermets used in the Roughrider suits. Forged billet battlesteel is easier to handle, while the cermets used for the Roughrider armour were, in Jet's words.... a total bitch to work with. The improved performance wasn't worth the improved effort.

All require skintight innerwear to operate. Each suit is specifically and finely tuned for it's wearer, and Jet swears it'sthe fine tuning that's responsible for the performance boost, and not any specific upgrade. An unusual strain of ‘wavium might also be having an effect...

Most of the individual systems are bought in...usually under cover of being equipment for Survial Shot. Jet only builds the basic hardsuit structure in-house. It also forever annoys Jet that she can't get the voices to mach the suit's colour.

Top Speed is increased to .125C or so. Strength and speed are better. Battery life is a little worse.

----

Saber White: Sylia Stingray (Jet Jaguar puppet)

Standard. Both manipulator arms are equipped with knucklebombers and rapier blades, and a single coilgun. Anklebomber with thrusters assist. Was the first "Crash" hardsuit built.

Speaks with: Michie Tomizawa's voice.

----

Saber Blue: Daryl Haur.

Senshi. Former Senshi OF-5 troubleshooter, before her partner Knight was killed in a Zwilnik raid. Was a bit bemused (to be polite) at what Jet was doing and thought she was a bit crazy to try forge her team in the exact same image as the animé, but on the gripping hand figured it a good way to get her revenge.... She's personally honourable, and still tries to stick to the love and justice ethos.... with far more emphasis on justice. She's slowly putting together a racecraft based around an F104 with fusion boost and a recovered Roughrider's engine.

Cover: OpFor "commanding officer" for Survival Shot,

Blond hair, green eyes, a little on the short side but not too much. Very ‘natural' appearance for Fenspace. Left handed.

+ Fen independence, asteroid racing, ‘killing' BNF's in Survival Shot.
- Zwilniks, especially those linked to Asmodeus Grey.

Hardsuit: A Visual derivative of hardsuit Priss.
Blue. 3 main engines. Triple railgun manipulator left arm. Defensive retractable rapier in right manipulator arm. Anklebombers with thrusters assist

Modular weapons systems: Over the shoulder spike-shooting railcannon, or an arm mounted rocket-propelled grenade launcher. Accompanying targeting systems.

Speaks with Ryoko Tachikawa's voice.

----
Saber Green:
Kotono Ito: Stardancer. Physiotherapist. Registered first-aider Failed to qualify for Jeanne's dance thanks to a broken ankle.... was approached by an odd woman in a business suit soon after. Find her role exciting.... it's thrilling. And she knows... despite some of the inane missions they're hired for... they often end up doing good. Has a mild avaricious side, kindled when she first saw what Sylia was paying her. Is a little worried she's slipping into the role too much.... the 80's fashions are infectious.

Athletic. Dark haired, has to forever tie it back, hazel eyed.... a little bit tall, with long legs and a tight figure. “Padded hardsuit” jokes.

* Self-righteous. Doing what she believes is right.... Zero-G gymnastics. Half decent cook. Leg warmers. Cleanliness.
- Fresian blouses. Dirt.

Her Cover: Runs pre-battle warmups and physical training... and handles any injuries that occur on Survival Shot. Most are light, such as muscle strains and the like. Anything heavier, she refers to a nearby specialist.

Hardsuit: A visual derivative of Hardsuit Linna.

Essentially follows the standard pattern. A rapier is in the left manipulator arm, while the left is equipped with knucklebombers and a pair of coilguns. A pair of monofilimant ribbons have been mounted to snap-retractable spools on the forearms, and are used much like a gymnast's ribbons. Has been fitted with a flexible toe at Kotono's request, and the auto-stabilisers removed.

Speaks with Aya Hisakawa's voice.

----

Jet considered trying to hire the red Saber the same way Sylia did.... with a puzzle laced through the interwave, considered the calibre of intelligences she'd be going up against, then concluded this wouldn't work. Jet originally asked Ford to take the position for their first two missions.... which went alright, until the Third mission. They were hired by a madboy who wanted his stolen Mecha back...

Saber Pink: “Anika Daini,”

Anika was created by a William Flint, a madboy. Anika escaped, stealing Flint's Battroid prototype in the process. The Knight Sabers were hired to recover the Battroid intact. When the Battroid was tracked down, they discovered that Anika was not his girlfriend, but his android, kept against her will. Needless to say the Space Patrol were quietly informed, and he was publicly arrested. While the Sabers kept the fee for the job.

Aniki joined the Sabers, taking the role of technical specialist. She's still learning the job, learning on the job, but is steadily worming her way through the underspace. She's perky, cheery, and enjoys her freedom... and seems to project this optimism that endears her to everyone around her.

Hair, flaming orange wavy. Golden eyes. Very fresh faced.

As she was designed to do.

Cover: System's operator at Survival Shot.... usually the voice on the other end of ATC. Was the one who made TITANIC reasonably secure as part of her ‘welcome to the space' project, and is forever cleaning up Jet's attempts at software.

+ Freedom. Parfait. Curiousity. New experiences.
- Madboys. 'Internet drama'

Hardsuit: Pink.

Jet only built the basic structure. CGI supplied the Eezero core and gravity drive. supplied the computers and interfaces. Exactly where and who Jet bought all the parts off of, Jet's not saying, but it's obvious she didn't do all the work herself.

The Pink hardsuit is essentially unarmed, being equipped only with a coilgun and a rapier blade for self defence. The Pink hardsuit excels in information warfare, being equipped with a number of technologies to improve the interface between its wearer and any hardware....

There are dedicated hard data connections a wireless interface, a full suite of ECM and ECCM, and electronic surveillance and eavesdropping equipment. The comm's range is boosted and set up for LPI operations.

The piece de reistance, is a side effect of the Ezero core, the suit can project a forcefield capable of temporarily protecting the wearer while they're busy. Unfortunately, with the field up, the hardsuit must remain in the same place.

Meanwhile, Anika is still learning.... the hardware is still much better than her skills.

Speaks with Yoshiko Sakakibara's voice.

-----

Jet's only building the basic hardsuit structure in house. Anybody supplying components to the hardsuits can known if Jet is behind the Sabers if they want. Anybody supplying parts to the Pink hardsuit *will* know. Anyone in underspace who's helping Anika learn has a good reason to be suspicious, and might find out if they dig a little deeper....

I want 3 people like the original Sabers... but not too like them, if that makes sense. Any suggestions?

And I'm sure I'm missing something.
