But maybe it should use plural if it talks to others. Mainly because its a collective. :p

Its not a real collective... each of the Exocomps is a (small) AI of its own, but not at sapient level.

But the network protocol they are running for updates and sensor data somehow creates the other AI. Because of this Serina can influence what the Exocomps are doing, but she is not necessarily aware of what ALL of them are doing at the moment.

PURR??? umm, sounds like there is the start of some sort of AI development there...  even if its only about as smart as an unwaved earth Cat.  And, um, as familiar as I am with the source I worry about that...  caused problems in the epsiode in question IIRC.  In addition, given the corporate mindset about AI's, the staff should be much more sensitive and worried about it as well

The catgirls had already started to equip 'their' Exocomps with all kinds of small apps to produce sounds and small preprogrammed behavior. So its not a that strong prove that something strange was going on here. But maybe I should think about writing more about the "no AI" rule of Catgirl Industries... they don't want to produce a sapient AI, thats sure, but I am not sure if sentient (animal like) AIs would be as bad.

Rather like what happend in the source. Maybe you should consider going back and watching the episode again, ladies...

I remember the episode differently. There was no evidence that the Exocomps did gain sentience and sapience because they were network. Only in the rescue mission they were used together as a team. At this point they were already (at least by Data) considered more than just machines.

I hope its just me, but you might want to flesh out the expanding relationship between Vivio and Cathy as growing into something more like accepting each other as sort of a twin sister.  Hopefully its just me but for some reason I was starting to get sort of ...  eww.  especially when I remembered that thanks to Quattro all Vivio remembers of herself comes from Cathy.  Double Eww.  BRAIN BLEACH!   STAT!!!
