Sorry I've been away for a while. I am now gainfully empoyed. Trouble is I'm working eight-hour days seven days a week. The overtime is awesome. The free time... not so awesome.
Looking great, Dartz! Especially love how the Lancer mystery ties in with the conversation with Wire Geek. Looking more and more like Ben hid his tracks well.
As for where do the materials for BAT ships come from? Ben worked out a deal with the Rockhounds that in exchange for some of the material mined from 36 Atalante, they leave him in ownership of all the mining equipment he'd need and enough spaces to get started (Midnight's Hangar (Hangar 000), and the main admin offices/living spaces are here). As the the Roughrider facilities expanded, the mined material was all put away for spaceframe construction. However, Ben encourages customers of BAT to make the down payment in the form of raw materials needed for the order. Where possible, Atalante ore is saved exclusively for ships used by the Roughriders themselves. The quality is every bit as good as what you would get from Hephaustus or some other metal working/smelting firm - it's just a touch of their pride. You know - our ships made from our rock.
Any ideas on what the Block III OVA-200 is like? I imagine that it would be something like what BAT would manufacture - up-rated materials, heavily reinforced frame, yet still twenty percent cooler lighter than the previous model's frame, not to mention the BAT specialty: high-performance engines. Really, it'd be like the Asteroid Racing Edition. If it had an ad, it'd be like one of those heavy-duty truck commercials where they show the beast of the truck hauling huge loads through muddy construction sites with impressive ease.
