While this could be something that Asmodeus Grey is up to, I like the idea that there's somebody else out there that we know nothing about.
I think I'd like to know more about the background of 'Asmodeus Grey' - wasn't he supposed to be a Super before he tried to replicate the 'Weapon X' program, using the Julian Friez Machine, and invented the Catgirling Machine? The name 'Grey' is interesting, 'Grey Roger', the Boskonian who was a flesh mask for an Edorian, 'Jean Grey' arguably the most dangerous Marvel character in her persona of Phoenix, and with quite a few important relatives.
Has he changed his name? Maybe more than once? Maybe he's been through the Catgirling process himself, and that's why he's so difficult to find? Or, he's using the Machinesmith trick of having robot drones that look just like him. Or both of those, and more? Maybe he's a secret persona in some catgirl who only comes out at night? [grin]

necessarily idiots, no two people are getting the same biomod, and so
on. And this is a good length for a chapter to be read on a Sunday
morning.
Probably Brainless's finest hour, so far, in his 'problem solving stand-in' capacity. Also, you might get some hints as to how he pulls off certain tricks - Brains doesn't know, either. But, I'd claim, all the information exists in the stories to allow you to deduce what he's doing. A big clue is, it's Hermetic. [grin]
If you're interested, Brains has signed the Official Secrets Act, at least once, which is why Jack was telling him things he's almost certainly supposed to keep confidential. As for Brainless, either Brains signing covers him, or he and Uran come under the heading of non-human, AIs, which makes things far more interesting.
