It's known, but it's not used.

The Limit is 40 AU out from Sol. Based on the mass-variable speed drive engines that are most common in Fenspace it takes anywhere between 2 and 23 days to reach from the inner system. Pretty much everywhere worth going to in Fenspace is already within 12-24 hours flight time, usually less the faster the engine. So taking a multi-day detour to go FTL to shave off a half-hour on the transit is... well, yeah.
