Well, that as based on the RoF, which is low for an aircraft weapon. At high speed, you've got a lot of distance between bullets - more than enough to fit another aircraft. There's a reason modern aircraft cannon fire at 2-3000rpm. The Russians have one that shoots at 6000.... (Which was notorious for shaking the plane it was bolted to apart, and damaging everything within a 200 yard radius of a ground target with shell fragments and richochets - including the attacking aircraft)
