Then what exactly makes you think I'm privileged?

Are you a straight white male living in a first-world country?
Then you are privileged in so many ways it's hard to articulate them all.
How long has it been since you've been worried about someone approaching you on the basis that the might try to rape you? How long has it been since you've gone without food for weeks on end? How often have you been forced to drink dirty water because you couldn't get clean water? Have you ever read a news article about somebody beaten half to death because of some characteristic they share with you, and then wondered if maybe you were next? You say you have no social clout because you are in your 40s and overweight, but I guarantee you it would be worse for a woman in the same situation. A black man with no prison record has about the same chance of getting a callback for a job application as a white felon - and, of course, race colors interactions with law enforcement and the justice system to a very large extent. Minorities are arrested at disproportionately greater rates and receive longer sentences for the same crime. 80% of executions for murder had  a white victim, when only about half of murder victims are white, and 80% of defendants for whom the death penalty is sought are racial minorities. I don't think you've ever had to worry that someone might not believe that you are a legal resident of wherever you live, either.
So yes. You have massive privilege.
