Good point, Logan. I was about to respond to this

by pointing out exactly what that article says in far more detail and far more eloquently: that this indeed is the actual goal, and these laws are designed to give the media (and other) companies back the monopolies they used to have. And the more I think about it, the more I think that quote from Jonathon Lamy that I posted above isn't a propagandist's fabrication.
