I think I've got an idea why my sisters never developed much skill at swordfighting. No matter what happens to them, they aren't really injured, and they don't feel pain.
I, on the other hand, do feel pain, even with the defense fields. And when you spend a lot of time around people who like to attack you with hatchets and sledgehammers, it gives you a lot of incentive to learn new tricks. Like hitting the sledgehammer just right so that the bozo holding it will swing it around and hit his own kneecap. I've got to remember that one.
