I've never done a mission with Pums in it, but I got the Volcanic badge by hunting in the Hollows once I was at higher levels. If you look for the sections of ground in the Gulch that looks like it's burning, there are usually 1 to 3 Magma Lords under the ground. You can get them out by firing off a PbAOE attack over the spot.
