"... you're kidding. Right? Please tell me you're kidding." Leon McNichol stared, horrified, at the person across the table. Around them
the party rocked on.
"Nope."
"Oh, come on! I don't owe you THAT much!"
"Yes you do."
"... dammit!"
Mag consulted the next entry on the list, blinked, and raised an eyebrow at Katy, who nodded to indicate that yes, indeed, it was accurate. He cleared his
throat and fought back a rising grin. "Yo! Leon! You're up!"
Leon hopped up onto the stage and glowered at someone lost in the crowd. As the music began, those members of the audience into ... weirder music... got very
wide eyes and began to laugh.
"Deborah was a Catholic girl, she held out 'til the bitter end," he sang out in a surprisingly good tenor. "Carla was a different type,
she's the one who put it in." The crowd began to laugh, both at the bizarre lyrics and the fact that Leon was standing there, scowling, and singing
in perfect harmony with the sparse melody. "Reno was an aimless girl, a geographic memory. Cathy was a Jesus freak, she liked that kind of misery."
By this point, most of the crowd was -howling- in laughter. Leon got into it, a little, and finished the song smiling. As the last notes died off he lifted
the mic one last time and intoned gravely, "Eighty-eight lines about forty-four women."
