The twin-headed thunderbird ship's crest of HaidaThe official crest of H.M.C.S. Haida is described properly as follows:  Blazon Or, a base barry wavy azure and argent, a thunderbird of the Haida tribe with wings displayed sable.  In normal English, this means that the badge is gold overall, with wavy blue and white waves at the lower end of the badge (simulating water), a black twin-headed thunderbird (or "thunder river bird" as it's sometimes called) rising from the waves.
