Tentatively, Pat Benatar's "Don't Walk Away." Basically a love song, but the chorus might get the right effect:

Edit: It actually fits with the "stop being an idiot" part, too, because it's pretty clear in the song that the person addressed is trying to play power games with the relationship -- and you ought to find a picture of that behavior in the dictionary under "idiocy."

Sorry -- every time I try thinking about this one, the "Super-Chicken" theme starts playing in my head. And I've got a feeling that I know a good possibility for "trust me, I'm harmless," but I can't pin down any actual song. It's one of those tip-of-my-tongue things.DHBirr
