What I mean by 'The Cult of Google' is that when you talk to a person, in person, and mention something they don't know/remember they can give you
an indication they didn't catch the reference. 'The Cult of Google' is the phenominon that come from the internet's information seeking
capabilities. This being that everyone is suddenly an expert on everything... notablely stuff they can only quote and don't understand the meaning of the
quoted lines. In other words... they know everything about the subject except what they are talking about.
That Wikis exist as a resource and are taken more seriously than search engines at this point is of little substantial importance. Members of the Cult of
Google are unable to admit they don't really understand the subject and join discussions to quote things they dug up in the last 5 minutes of searching.
They quote them with passion and veins full of caustic vinegar. They attract their own kind to the discussion and fill the field with babble and quotes. They
aren't trolls... they usually think they are actually doing something useful / trying to belong. To paraphrase an old episode of Reboot... "They are
helping!" The arrogance and 'righteousness' that many of they exhibit are a cover... often anyway.
Not that I'm again resources with a 70-90% usefulness rate... but I call them cultists for a reason.
Just to be more in topic... Imagine the results of Washu meeting Dexter (of Dexter's Laboratory) and her reaction as he shows her, his overly big for one
lightbulb reading lamp is actually powered by a one foot by one foot carbon atom in the long disproven Bohr style. Its native to this dimension, real, and
ignores the basic subatomic physics she has been operating under for the past 20,000 years, even ignoring the scale. Let see how she responds and how she
tries to disprove the existence of a physical object.
