Er... I'm sensing a plot hole here... In the scene introing Lancer II aka Griever, it's stated that the master mentioned that the particular Servant (ie Griever) is particulary independent. Thing is, is he talking about Griever(as he/she has apparently yet to completely summon Griever) or about the Lancer caste as a whole?
Also, some of the conversation in the anime, in particular the part where Saber asks Shirou for some mana to help her heal, implies to me that the Servants can regenerate wounds as long as they have the mana to do so.
