Booting this thing up
#5
Since Striker S is already showing, this might be a good time to reboot this plot bunny.

I've neen reading the wiki on the technology of the Nanoha series and I'm amazed on how El-Hazard could be brought into the system.
Bear with me.
Do you guys recall the first Reinforce, the master program in the book of Darkness? She is categorized as a Unison device which is defined in the wiki as quote:
The Unison Device (, , Yggata Debaisu, Yunizon Debaisu?) is the most sophisticated design of device in the Belka magic system that takes the Intelligent Device idea to the extreme. The device is given a body and free will, and the power to "unite" with its user (this act of uniting called Unison Mode), thereby granting extensive control and management of his or her abilities and power. However, due to the incompatibility with many practitioners, and incidents where the device took control of its user, Unison Devices never became a viable product.
If you want a El-Hazard/Nanoha xover, you could make a case that the Book of the Midnight Sky (Book of Darkness original name) was the first attempt at the Unison device which failed catastrohically and the only way to destroy it was to use the Eye of God. But since the Eye of God is actually a dimensional transporter..guess what happened?
Ifurita (and by extension Kalia) would had been the first successful model of a Unison device. The windup procedure to awaken her would had been a safeguard to disable the unison mode. It would be interesting to speculate if the unison mode between Makoto and Ifurita is active (just not powered up). That would explain the bond between them. Ifurita also may had been the generalist model, being able to use melee and ranged attacks. The Wolkenritter are more specialized.
Those huge globes in Ifurita's staff would be the holding tanks for the energy required, which later Belkan mages would had minaturized into cartridges.
Speaking of the staff, would it be better to have a chibi-Ifurita showing up as the staff's control program?
And what part of the timeline would Makoto show up?
The Belkan system of magic uses
