With regards to this particular story, I'd say that the bit about the red dress is just out of place in my opinion. I mean, Naruto goes through the entire series wearing primarily bright orange, and nobody in canon ever even mentions it, nor is Naruto or Sakura's clothing or hair coloration ever a factor in them getting spotted or not. The colors are a way for the main characters to stand out visually, not an in-story sign of their understanding or lack thereof of basic camouflage.
The bit with the "1000 Years of Pain" is similarly out of place, but others have already discussed that.
Naruto's assessment of Sakura after the bell test sounds out of character to me. Regardless of one's opinion about its accuracy, it isn't really like Naruto to be so negative about anyone, much less Sakura.
The bit with Yugito and Naruto kissing is a bit... eww, considering that she's an adult and he's twelve.
*shrug* Looking back up, my comments are rather more negative-sounding than I intended. This isn't a bad story; it's well written and constructed. It just hits some of my pet peeves.
