The colors are a way for the main characters to stand out visually, not an in-story sign of their understanding or lack thereof of basic camouflage.
As for the kiss thing, I considered that part of cat close to the surface deal. For the cat this is able getting literally the most powerful thing known (barring things that show up in the second manga series)... Stake your claim early. Which eplains a lot of her actions really. I think Naruto was doing the thing kids do and do stuff, because no one told them better.
On the down on Sakura thing... I'd agree with it being odd, for Naruto to react that way. Probably part of shippers syndrome where other possible pairings are smacked down through Authorial fiat.
