Eh, looks good. Got a tourney to go to in Radcliff, Kentucky. that's next to Ft. Knox next week. Playing Germans out of desperate Measures. We'll see how this goes. Tried it cold in a tournament last month and actually won it.

Well, if you've got all Tiger's and Panther's, then if anyone's playing my list you should walk all over them. If you've just running PzIII/IV you'll have a close game. Add Rudel's Stuka, well-concealed infantry with panzerfausts and some form of arty, I'd say 'Enjoy the war'.

Crazily, I've become interested in playing in the upcoming mid-war national this easter. It's 1485 points, dropping the 76mm turret on six T-34 chassis' with cupolas, 4 SU-85 and 2 Katyusha's gives me 1325 points (or I think I miss counted somewhere as the FOW list tool say's I'm at 1350)for Fearless Red Army Conscripts. Going Guard, is well and truly over the points limit.
I'm aiming to get a play test happening with a T-34 replaced by a T-34/57, some proxed BA-10s and a I-153.

Good luck.

Just came back from Little Rock, Arkansas to blow the rust off and play a 2nd ID list. 17 put pf 18 points. Lost the dice off between 2nd and 3rd place. So should do well with the 1st of the Nationals and LW adepticon.

Here's where I'm at currently, not been in much of a painting mood lately. Still short a BA-10, I've got a FLGS trying to source one from Battlefront (highly unlikely, if I couldn't get three from them), a FLHS is trying to source a Zvezda BA-10 and I've ordered one off ebay from the UK.

I also need to paint up the HQ stands for the Katies, I'm tempted to just use my existing arty HQ team base - but they're only based not painted.

I have a friend that that has been doing well using LW fortified lists. And I have used them myself just to figure out how it works. But there is a list that does beat it though. Overlord or Road to Rome lists with Naval Gunfire Support. Can you say 6 gun AT6 FP1?

Scratches *chin*
Well, I am going to the 2nd Nationals over Austin Texas in June. I will be picking up an objective then. I'd offer you the one I got at Adepticon, but I got guilted by one of my opponents into handing mine over. He happened to be the teen-aged son of the friend of mine who had nearly beaten me. Though you could get it if you go to the Nationals over there at Oz. Or I can sell it to you I suppose. Provided I don't get guilted..again!

I'm theoretically turning up to a mid-war national, which is now running for three round instead of five, so that's potentially six players. The TO's down here are using the special objectives as prize support ie top 1~3 get one. Also if I got a Hollywood Tiger, I'd have to get Eightball in order to have the set.

I got the following objectives (all painted!)
Indiana Jones
8 Ball Sherman
Hollwood Tiger.
I got another Hollywood Tiger blister. I'm trying to find a 15mm scale Japanese school girl or 3 to make it into a girl und panzer diorama or a  15mm pig's head to make it to an Otto Carius diorama. The scene of Pz IV Lang vs Tiger IE in one scene looks something I would like to do.
Edit: The smallest Nationals I'ved seen is 20 (EW). The biggest is around 102 (Late War)

More players turned up, five became twelve, then three of them left after wining two rounds....or was it of the three that left; two won two rounds and the other lost both. Either way the extra players were very-very last minute registers.

I only won a single round (against Finns) and I believe I could've gone better if I didn't do some important mistakes: going for both objectives in a Surrounded scenario on a farmhouse-covered map divided by limited crossing point river (objectives placed on both extreme sides of the river). Parked my SU-85s in an concealed objective overwatch location (a forest, ten inches away) in a Breakthrough scenario with the said overwatched objective being in a field and next to another forest. Forgetting that all ground troops can capture objectives and generally wanted better dice-rolls.

Ayep, in that Breakthrough round I got the joy of seeing a rapid turn 2 win for my opponent for he'd rather rapidly moved up a interesting jeep team: deployed - recon moved - then at the double skirted around the back of a forest ending up within 4 inches of an objective at the end of doing that - end turn. My turn, left the SUs where they were and went off to play with my I-153 on his arty park and end turn. Bam! Game over! We then just decided to play a friendly as there was time and to see if I would've done better if I'd moved the SU-85's up.

It still ended in a loss for me and I got to see a thing I thought was a myth. The marvelous transforming jeep! Yes, that squad of jeeps was really a pack of M8A1s or M10s.

In all it was an experience, I somehow ended up with Best Army. I think that mainly come about due to the true winner leaving before award presentation and I may've been the next best or it was for other reasons. The special objectives weren't present for prize support.

While I was there a Bolt Action event was being run too, with about eight players. And boy did they get some prize support - boxes of BA squads, Army painter paint's and tools.

2nd Nationals at Austin coming up. Test played my putative list and did a few tweaks. BB-60 will be making it's national debut!

I can imagine the cry's of "JUDGE!!!" now.
Off-table naval artillery bombardment is apparently generating some stir in parts of the community due to it's apparent effectiveness, and that its Allied army only. Well, they could give the Germans an off-table Gustav and let the Russians set up their arty park off or on a nearby table too.

Still, a nine 16" gun and eight 5" gun broadside bombardment is a true go big moment.

Germans have the Prinz Eugen. Besides, the Nationals normally have bowling alleys for terrain boards. Not my fault that I built a list that takes advantage of it.
So GO BIG or GO EXTINCT!
