Be fair now. These are fully acculturated Zentradi, they've had the chance to acquire taste. [Image: smile.gif]

The real Minmei, Japanese voice edition, is not a bad singer.

This, while true, doesn't undermine the validity of either Vlad's or my points.

I have this reflex when it comes to implied Minmei bashing. Mainly because I have nothing but respect for Mari Iijima, yet there are plenty of people who like
to bash Minmei without qualifying themselves.

Interesting note regarding the secondary characters that I noticed while watching this episode: Mikhail, while certainly willing to tease KK while she's
micronized, is none too hot on the concept of her seeing him while she's full sized, it seems. Afraid of retribution beyond a quick piledriver, Mickey boy?

Also, I was rather fascinated by the level of sophistication put into the Vajra. Mr. Government Connected and Shady notes that they're actually
*fold-capable* on their own, in addition to apparently growing their own missiles internally.

Can anyone make sense out of the fold drive graphics there?

Elmo... KRIDANIK?!

They really should have done something with his business card's URL, but no. [Image: smile.gif]

Alone, huh, Alto? Way to break her heart Tongue

Glass is impressing me. I figured he'd have the fleet turtle up for fear of inviting Vajra attacks if they sent help to Galaxy, but here goes the rescue
mish.

...We're just going to have twenty-six different eyecatches, aren't we?

Reporters. Nature's quitters. [Image: smile.gif]

Most Unfortunate Acronym of the Year award goes to the New United Nations Spacy. NUNS: no sense of humor.

...just who is this mysterious Mr. Bilrer, anyway...?

Nonstandard Closing Credits... and they're off to the war...

From what I can tell from that and the text, it seems that they're portraying fold drive as not quite the tesseract that the name implies. It
seems to cause space to "fold" like bending a piece of paper multiple times. The ship traveling through the folds gains great distance initially(as
the folds are close together), but less as the journey goes on, because the energy output required to maintain the fold begins to grow, spreading the folds
out(and increasing travel time) until they reach a threshold where they simply HAVE to come out of fold drive. So essentially, the fold drive is kind of a
"rocket boost", as the initial, short range to mid range, folds would be instantaneous or much faster than light speed, while long range folds would
take more time as the energy threshold nears, explaining why you don't have ships from every Macross colony fleet rushing over to help protect Galaxy.

The way you know this is a proper Macross series:

How many freaking times during this ep did I say "dammit, when does the soundtrack for this come out? I *need* this music!"

They'll certainly have enough material. Seems like there's a new song or a new arrangement of an old song every
episode.

Shinsen-Subs is the best, but they're weeks behind. Until their version of any particular episode comes out, I settle for Gattai.

This is the homepage of the speedsub folks, 'gg'. I, um, hope it's clear why
I'm unimpressed.

Most of mine are Gattai's product also (and, also, will be replaced in good time by SS), but it looks like AiA beat them off the mark this time.

I have to wonder just what Alto did that he deserves having that happen to his (formerly) carefree high school life.

Interestingly, with Brera Stern(our Red valk pilot) showing up shortly after Leon starts surveillance on Ranka, that pretty much confirms his connection to
whatever NUNS black-ops/splinter group is involved with the Vajra. Several people on another forum have suggested that the Vajra are a classic Wayland-Yutini
attempt by Leon's faction, which would make sense.

All in all, though, with that little smirk, I'm pretty sure we can confirm that Leon is not necessarily a good character.

I felt so sorry for Kathy, though. Getting asked out to dinner JUST as Ozma walks in the door. [Image: laugh.gif]

Or possibly Tedan-Tippedai, given what they've produced.

Anyway, watching the episode for myself, my thoughts are...

Zentradi toddlers! EEEK! Talk about dangerous to humans, brr.

I continue to hold massive love for Ranka's singing voice, though. ^_^

So, Nana has a thing... for Ranka... and we already knew that Luca had a thing for Nana... though, given his expression, I think his mind went the same place mine did.

There are times when Sheryl scares me. ...and she desperately needs to fire her driver.

Snrk. I'm wondering how she'd look in a dark blue bike suit with a pair of pistols, now. ^_^

"Hime?"

LOL. Nana comes around the corner... and visible first is... *falls over laughing*

!!!! The three-eyed lizard thing is a Vajra spy tool. That's why it's following Ranka around.

Eyecatch! Chibi-Vajra! *breaks*

Okay, so, it's not a lizard. It's a lungfish.

And this sequence... is so not what I'd've expected from Macross. It's also fall-over-laughing funny. ^_^

You can tell that they subcontracted the character animation out or something - people's faces are noticeably sharper and pointier.

I bet you're regretting that flight now, Alto! ^_^

... gg fansubs does brilliant work compared to Chihiro. And yet I'll try to hit the more comprehensible points.

Looks like Brera and his purple Valk are indeed operating from the Frontier, and under orders to keep the government from learning too much about the Vajra.
...And am I horribly misinterpreting this, or is GRACE spying on the Glass administration and somehow involved in Brera's chain of command?!

Michel needs to get macronized, stat. (I'm sure they could put together a sniper package for a Queadluun.)

I would not allow young children of such different size ranges to play together at all, no matter how much supervision was available. o.O

Valles, the idea of the Underpants Lizard Lungfish being a spy is oddly appealing... [Image: smile.gif]

Notice the pattern on its chest? Does that remind you of anything else we've seen on a Vajra?

Hm. There, I don't see much resemblance at all.

...But the ostensibly-Vajra eggs in that derelict ship... there are three glowing dots in the darkness inside the one that hatched, and that looked a lot more
like U.L.'s eyes than anything on a Vajra...

(Speculation: Galaxy Fleet hasn't been taken over by Vajra at all. They're the masterminds, in full control, and Dulfim and Kaitos were sacrificed to
the plot...)

--Sam

"Gorgeous, delicious, and deculture!"
