You've got a labour shortage. You are literally short on people doing work.

How the hell does that translate to 'we need our personnel to work less. If nothing else you'd be pushing for more hours worked to make up for the shortage.

Funnily enough, this event was the ORIGIN of the Star Wars Day meme.
