part of me wants to smack whomever designed the firewire 800 plug (IEEE 1394). it also snugly fits into the RJ45 connector. I spent 20 minutes almost tearing my hair out thinking my external raid array was fubar, when I had plugged it into the wrong port on my laptop >.

I've got an eSata port that I can't use, because it doesn't hold the plug in well enough, so it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting as I try to use it. I just use it as another USB port now.
