I have to admit that I don't like the 'Angel-Chans' keeping their combat bodies.. I don't like it at all, call it Kaiju overpopulation.
My thought is that when a conventional Angel is deafeated (no air quotes), then the corpse (iirc, aside from virus-angel, they all leave one) either sacs it's energy to procude the human-sized corporeal form, or turns into, or what have you. I thoguht that having them posses the Rei-spares was the original concept, and then we moved away from that to control the character count with the Eva-possession thing... was there ever the suggestion that they were still able to go kaiju? I missed it, I think, if so - unless it was when I mentioned them stepping in against Mana-as-nun-fetish-girl and her entirely robotic giant mecha, but I didn't mean combating it as such, more that they'd be keen to deal with her personally before this nonsense she's spouting about how they're being defiled and wronged has a chance to catch on with the Children.

I was the one who suggested they still be able to grow... *shrug* Not particularly bound to the idea, though. I do think it would be simplest just to have them shrink after "defeats." (Maybe still be able to access the armor?)

It occurs to me that there's something we should set up before we ever go into the mechanics of the Evas and Angels, because it's going to play a major role in shaping those mechanics.
That being: the characterizations and motivations of the canon cast, in particular Shinji and Gendo. For Shinji to exist as something close to canon, it seems to me that we are required to have his father also remain mostly unchanged... and if Yui isn't stuck in whatever form EVA-01 winds up taking, we need to know what's driving him instead... --Sam "I weave a lethal net of baked goods that few can escape."
First off, invoking Titanic was a matter of sledgehammer diplomacy (pounding something into someones head with ideas that hit like blunt impact trama and reset their brains). It was strictly a statement on how Lurker was acting warped to the hentai of the movie, there to shock him into thinking.. I remember Titanic as the 3 hour and 17 minute Things That Wouldnt Leave!!!, the same 50 or so people came back and watched it 3-4 times a week for 6 months,,, somehow managing to cover hundreds of square feet in ankle deal popcorn and soda cups. So for me the annoying My Heart Will Go On was a power song that covered the AOE in ankle deep popcorn and other concession refuse. I personally filled 3 32 gallon trash cans with this stuff sometimes twice a week (it usually took 2-3 on a busy night for the 11 theaters). I was stating he was being as mindlessly obsessive about needing it to be mindless porn.
Anyway What if we took the three impacts to defeat and altered that a bit. The first impact is the impact of form, if humans cant take the war form that ends up basic human form. Once that stage is offed (mostly cannon basis of method.) You get the impact of body, the pilot liquefies and then has a sex battle with the pilot over who ends up with the physical body and who ends up as a spirit in the eva. The pilot may end up in a more powerful innerself form during this battle to weaken the angels new core. The pilot ending up unclothed (they are also floating around in the LCL) and uncontious is considered weird, but not harmful (sensors blank out at that point and the Eva goes dead). The third impact is the impact of choice the pilot(s) choose whether or not to keep the angel around or vote them off the island. At which point they get shunted into the empty Reis. The choice is if their new flesh body grows a S2 core or not the twice destroyed cores are cracked on their sometimes solid spirit bodies. However if they do get chosen they take over the Rei and can operate the body normally rather than get sealed in it. Physical changes may happen to make the more like their spirit-self or they could end up a freak Rei personality wise. We probably wont know until half way through neither side really knows that this isnt a global change issue just a personal one. So the pilots stall on the issue. During this undecided portion of the angels life they can manifest while no none defeaters of angels are present the Michigan J. Girlfriend issue. Now how long Shinji keeps thinking he is hallucinating is dependant on a few things if we have three boys in the eva when the kinky angel is defeated that means that he has people to angst with about their mutual, crazy stalker. This is the amusement route of mass torment. Remember the reason those kids are in Shinjis class at all is that they are all emergency back up pilots. If not he has to wait for the sea battle, for him to feel a bit saner. Which brings up to Armisael is easy for the pregnancy fetish thing after all she was taken down by a single female. Bluntly put, dick girl sex fight. Seriously, Rei or Armisael ends up in a spirit fight over who ends up the father of their unions child. Sense the Eva and Reis body got obliterated so its a fight over who gets the pregnant body and who gets the altered female one. Unless you want the dick girl fight with Sandalphon, I mean Asuka get confused over how to take being a father amuses me (the mother aspect of breeding is canon and blatantly her mothers fault. Nothing screams Asuka in character like giving her bizarre new mental issues. Gaghiel will also be amused with her new toy in this case Asuka recondensing with a new dangly bit or so wouldnt be too unbelievable. Anyway, since the Reiquarium is where the dummy plugs that make the MP models come from free ranging them all with mess that up. The dummy plugs may also be what stores the Angels spirit and lets them not dissipate in the first place they just are install the dummy plug system in the Eva pre Shinjis arrival if not perfect it. Though depending on who is in the Rei clone the battle with Bardiel it could get weird. Leliel may result in the 01 spouting dark poetry at Bardiel. Which give Toji the time, (Bardiel just wasnt expecting a poetry challenge). Which means he may be able to talk Bardiel into surrender to avoid having to reveal that Bardiel, regardless of her name, cant sing or write poetry. Besides if the MPs get thrashed by Asuka and then change its all the more funny as that orgy with utterly brain baked UN watching dumb founded. The one MP angel Asuka kills the dummy plug of is the one that spirit lets her Eva shift into whatever form. Saving the saving the large scale orgy for a suprize ending thing.
Sledgehammer diplomacy, isn't. Liekwise, while mindless porn may not be able to carry a long series on its own, a long spiraling brain-fuck is even more undesireable. I have suprisingly few objections to the rest of Necratoid's immediately previous post, however.

On a related note... So, at this point, I find myself shying away from Necratoid's creative vision just about as much as he is from mine... but then, as my grandmother says, "light dawns on Marblehead!" This isn't anime or manga, this is fanfiction. We don't have a budget, or production constraints beyond available time. Why not just split the project into two separate stories? Silly-fun-gonzo-sexfilled-parody on one side, closer-to-canon-weird-angstfest on the other... no reason we couldn't just stop trying to step on each other's toes, is there? Whichever, she's determined to blow the target of her afftections away! Now, this is only a sketch of the first angel-chan to come to mind, and one so sloppy as to have hardly been worth the time to color it - but aside form the wings, it's not too horrible. I rather like the come-hither expression I got on her face in the side view, in fact. The wings thgouh, ugh. These vague white energy fields are not at all right, but I didn't even know how many she's supposed to have, so I couldn't go all out. Also, are the wings retractable for our angel-chans, as for the MP Evas? It would be more conveinient in daily ife if so... if they can, then the orange strips along the top edges shrink down to lie flat against the shoulder blades when the wings aren't out. Comments? Well, I can't take credit for the base images - I just put three full-body shots of Rei in her plugsuit on one page, made it really light, and then didn't trace the detailing that makes it a plug suit instead of a nude when I inked my sketching. I was actually thinking of making her hair a darker, but still sky blue and giving her a tan, being a space-bound angel and all, but wasn't so sure how far I should stray from the base Reiquarium stock. I'm fairly attatched to the idea of Matariel being all goth-girl with fishnet/webbing and dark eyeshadow and midnight blue/black hair, too. I do think that the hair colors shouldn't stray too far from the white-steel-blue-blue/black continuum, though dying it is a possibility, and styling cariations as well.

Looks a bit like Rei in a rubber cosplay suit, her main body should follow the originals battle form a bit more, not just the suit. Otherwise its angel grunt number 475 in the Sahaquiel armor. Keep the blue hair though, make it the angel DNAs fault Rei has light blue hair, different colors are a dye job.. The tan for the space angels makes sense.
The wings need the most work, they are rather jarringly generic comparatively... add in the three fat wing finger hands with green finger tips, on the main wing joint, and color at least the backs orange. Sahaquiel does throw exploding body parts, as a main weapon so at least for her wings, add feathers she can throw like shuriken. Otherwise you might have the threat of accident pulling something off and losing an arm, when other wise occupied with her. Also add the single eye motif to the wings themselves. That will give her a personal theme that her armor is based on. Her head needs something. A third eye on her forehead, headband, tiara, or helm most likely. Could also be earrings. A real third eye would be a bit odder, but fit. Depends if you use the angels personal wing pattern as a center for her own motif or her head. Her own eyes should be green iris with yellow cornea though. (Edit: reversed eye parts' names.)
Well, the official Angel-XX designs are Reis in cosplay suits, one (as Valles reminded me) with hair that's either bleached white then dyed orr naturaly pink, and with that example to base it on I'm more inclined to Valles' thought that there's a litlle more to this angel possession than slapping an "Angel Inside" sticker on one of the clones from the Reiquarium. Then, going back to Necratoid's argument, I was thinking I might give Arael (the 15th) a tail, since in the non-show-but-official close up image it's basically a coatl with claw-arms and pincers. Guessing by the big blue jewel in its mouth, the mindfuck ray is a breath weapon, too... Hmm, tongue piercing, or non-human-equivalent structure that can drop out of the nasal-cavity area for an angel-chan? I'm kind of against the intentionally-poking-holes-in-yourself thing, but that's just me.
As for the wings on Sahaquiel-chan - Well, I said they were only place holders. Any idea where to look up the "real" Sahaquiel to see what type of angel she's suposed to be, and hence how many wings she's supposed to have as a starting point? Or should that just scale alog with time from Sachiel's single pair to Tabris-chan and Lilith's eight wings each? As for the pull-off bits, I figured that could stay the blue blobbly things and orange connecting them, so the one that's all alone on her right hip can be pulled off and formed into whatever one-hand object she currently has in mind (from a sword to 'toys' to a rope and grapnel) and the belt/butt and boots parts of her costume can be simply torn off. (There was also some notion of the "eyelash" piece that extends onto her right shoulder being able to snake down and out like a ribbon or blade - eh, I dunno) I have another version that's not all contigous pieces that I only kind of half-did, and which is in some ways better - it has the kaiju-hand wings for example, and doesn'thave the kind of awkward looking stripe on the back of all the fingers. Of course, if the costume bits are attatched parts of the angel-chans, that kind of makes a problem for the sex scenes anyway, so it's probably moot. With the bits on the back of her left hand she might be able to pull of Kimimaro's finger bullets, though. The thing with Sahaqiel is that it's such a minimal shape there's really nothing you can do with it besides make a patterned bikini - well, unless the angel-chan was going to be nothing but a pair of arms and a bust floating around with a Rei-head on top. I'll get the other version to the ink stage and scan it to see which everyone else likes better. - CD ETA: Sahaquiel-chan V2, B&W (developement versions removed - final is on the next page) The color scheme would be the same as the tanned verison above. Oh, and she's got fingerless gloves now, added because the hands looked too plain just bare. Looking back at original idea is that the idea is basically that angels are in fact summons as giant armor. Each armor has its own strengths and weaknesses. Which means when the pilot fuses (becomes one with) a human sized unit it turns them into a Kaiju themselves. Since a trangendered (really sex changed, but that is a grammar issue, as gender is a mental construct) Shinji (or other pilot) is a Kaiju them with a certain type of armor on, your going to need two different character models.
The first is what the civilan model looks like. That is what they look like human sized. The Reiquarium is replaced with a holding apartment area (their self amusement activities are what Gendo and co are watching). Each civilian mode angel is in a Rei like entity with a few changes. The eye colors in the case of those given. Sachiel wears little bird skulls in her hair. Leliel dresses as a goth. Some may have different color hair (by nature or dye). Few, if any major physical changes that tell them appart. The second form is the armor they are at giant size. That is where the major changes occur. Sahaqiel is a one piece, bathing suit (the boots are extra cover) with arms that can fling globs of material. These explode... with multiple effect that include the marital and combat functions The only issue then is what the Angel armor's are really mounted on in the first place? Is getting defeated Kaiju sized mean the previous pilot is the new mind of the armor? Does this mean that the other pilot is arrested and their armor taken as spoils of war? Are the XX images pilots wearing their armor companions or are they different. Though with this method the armors would have to be damaged to get at the vulnerabilities. You could also cover the need for extra pilots as transformation and activities while transformed are draining and that they (the pilots and the armor) need time to recover. The question here is if Asuka and Hikari are also armors and the 3 stooges the real pilots or if they just include more pilots as they get more armors. |
