A little thing that came up at a recent gaming session I feel compelled to share:

"Hey Rocky, watch me pull a shoggoth out of my hat!"

"That trick never works."

"Oh, the stars are right this time!"

I'm not sure if this is really the right thread for this idea, but hey, it's a crossover. Peggy and I were watching The Magnificent Seven this afternoon on DVD, and then all the various special features, in which amazingly frequent references to the original, The Seven Samurai, were made. And I ended up thinking...

What if the Japanese villagers passed through a stable time/space rift and ended up recruiting the gunslingers?

OVERLORD OF ALL COSMOS: It seems that in a careless moment, I swept the stars from the skies of our fair Netherworld.
It thus falls to you, my son, to set right the wrong committed by moi, Vyers, the Dark Ado --

PRINCE LAHARL OF ALL COSMOS: Like hell I will, Mid-Boss.

OVERLORD MID-BOSS OF ALL COSMOS: *sputter* Will you stop calling
moi that? In any event, it is a simple enough task -- you must take this ball and roll up anything and everything in the Netherworld, so that moi may
transform it into a new star...

LAHARL: I have a better idea, old man. Eat this! *uses Eye Lasers of Doom to send Mid-Boss packing*

FLONNE: (Aw, I wanted to see the Royal Rainbow ... ;.Wink

Any further attempts on your company's part to interfere with General Hammond or his department's operations, or to even think about touching the orbital laser satellites, will be considered an attack on the United States with weapons of mass destruction and we will respond against your company in kind. Do you understand?"

Spotted in http://groups.google.ca/group/rec.arts. ... ode=source]this Usenet post - remember what "Usagi" translates as:

Quote:[Meanwhile, in an urban section Tokyo]
[A lone senshi and her guardian investigate rumors of an oni in the area]
[They find nothing...until a large, albino furred claw snares the senshi]
[in a firm yet gentle grip and lifts her into the air]

50' yeti: Duh, oh boy, my own little bunny rabbit!

[The yeti presses Moon against his gigantic pectoral muscles]

50' yeti: ...I will name him 'George' and I will hug him and squeeze
him...

Artemis: That's not our target, is it?

[Luna sweatdrops]

Luna: This can't possibly end well.

They pilot lion-shaped mecha that combine into a larger, more powerful giant robot.

They're inscrutable.

They are... the Vorlon Force!

That really depends on if you can convince them to follow people around and point at them dead silent... though getting them to chant 'One of Us. One of
Us.' in deadpan, while doing so, would work also. That is if you can't convince them to use their powers and skill sets for your amusement and
benefit.

I recognize Rei, Tabitha, Ruriruri, and Yuki... and I think that is CiCi, but the other 2 escape me... Though one reminds me vaguely off Sumomomomo.

You don't think Ruri and Yuki are fun? But books and sarcasm are two of the greatest joys in life! '.'

If you've read Curse of the Fanboys, you may have already heard the title "Ayanami Rei Rei".

...

But if you think about it, the idea does have some potential.

Rei Ayanami came to earth to solve the problems of troubled lovers, and that's what she's going to do. Even if she's not sure what the point of the
whole exercise is. Perhaps things would have gone better if someone explained to her what love was... Despite this, Rei comes up with effective (but completely
crazy) solutions to various thorny problems. (But, unlike Kaguya, does not sleep with all of them.)

-Morgan. Some of them? Well, if it's the most efficient solution...
