Black Flower (Naruto/Prototype)
Not sure if this has been recc'd here but I like it and it has the added bonus of the first post listing each story section so slogging through 20 pages of posts can be avoided.

Too bad its 6 weeks till the next updates... and I am thoroughly amused by the writer realizing that Blacklight!Sakura is the nicest Sakura he has written.

For Laughs
A very good Nolanverse Batman/Criminal Minds crossover. Knowledge of the latter is not neccesary to enjoy the story, though it will probably help. The best part is being respectful to both franchises. Complete.
Warning: Violent.

This is a 'how to train your dragon' fanfic, recommended by myself, and blackaeronought.
However, I must warn, that it might get a little odd later on, I didn't finish reading it yet.

Epsilon Really? I've been following the guy writing this over at TFF, and no one's said anything like that. Odd.

It shouldn't be hard for you to find the segments that are directly copy-pasted from that to this fanfic.

Epsilon Really? I've been following the guy writing this over at TFF, and no one's said anything like that. Odd. All over space-battles though, with a bunch of direct comparisons. There's a couple of scenes where basically he copied from the novels then added some additional descriptors. Though, considering that that the translation is kinda... meh.
Anyways, more on-topic.

A mixed triple shot of recommendations:
WarSlayer: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6453599/1/
(Buffy/Warhammer 40k)
Summary: The Halloween episode had a different result, and from it arose
champions that will strike fear into all the forces of evil that
threaten humanity. Rated M for strong language and violence.
When There Was a Tomorrow: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6903189/1/
(Mass Effect/Halo)
Summary: Do you remember when there was a tommorow? Commander
Wade Shepard does, but with a Reaper threat looming he's not sure there
is one anymore. And he's about to discover that his universe may not be
the only where mankind faces extinction.
Harry Potter and the Temporal Beacon: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6517567/1/
(Harry Potter)
Summary: At the end of 3rd year, Hermione asks Harry for some
help with starting an interesting project. AU, Timetravel, HHr, mild Ron
bashing. Minimizing new powers, just making good use of existing ones.
Will never be complete. Major reset: here we go again.

Study War No More (Known Space/AU Evangelion), by Charles Bhepin (of Shinji and Warhammer 40K, Lovehammer: The Scattering of Serenity)
Humans have sworn off war, they simply became too good at it for it to be worth it. So what happens when the now non-militant humans run into a Kzinti scout ship. A Kzinti scout ship with a captain smart enough to realize a photon drive can double as a weapon...
Just the story on this link, and apparently a thread (with likely 100:1 noise to signal) on SpaceBattles.

A sequel to the ME fanfic 'Accidental Hero of the Galaxy', staring a Commander Shepard as played by Ciaphas Cain.
New Gundam SEED fic from Ominae, Peacekeepers, which I would characterize as sorta a Super Robot Wars style crossover, but for Gundam series.

From the same guy who brought us Decadent Habits, I present Dangerous Tendencies, a Nanoha fic along the same vein, though MUCH lighter and softer than Decadent. NSFW (though i'm pretty sure anyone caught doing ANYTHING but work at work is already in trouble, never mind what kind of fic he's reading), with much lemony goodness. The writer considers this the sequel, both spiritually and chronologically, of the doujin Working Official Disqualification. Word of Author says Vivio will not be a part of any festivities
Synopsis: Fate and Lindy. That's pretty much all you need to know.
And for those of a more conservative bent...
Quote:Title: The Melancholy of Kitsu Chiri
Summary: Tsunetsuki Matoi just wanted a normal life. Got to school, stalk her
teacher, work on her photography, that sort of thing. So how the heck did she
end up playing babysitter to an obsessive-compulsive goddess?

Harry Potter: Other People's Magic (Power!RavenClaw Harry)
What if surviving that Halloween night left Harry with less magic of his
own, but with other abilities instead? Follow Ravenclaw Harry as he
learns to borrow and command the magic and energy he sees all around
him. A different Powerful! Harry tale.
I'm of two minds with recommending this one. I'm enjoying it a lot but I know PowerHarry! can get on people's nerves. For a detailed (spoiler) summary, read below.
For me, the good points are:
- Depth. The author has very carefully built up a depth behind the original Potterverse that is only revealed because of a change in the way Harry's magic develops. None of what is shown contradicts canon - in fact, it often very subtly reinforces it and I often found my self thinking, 'you know that would make some of the stuff that happens in the books make a lot more sense'
- Character changes are slow and make sense - and not always because they're logical either - they feel more like people making decisions, not always the right ones. Because this Harry is a lot more aware than the Canon one, he interacts with people differently and they respond differently - and that's what's causing the AU changes, rather than 'want of a nail' effects
- The Dursleys are not overdone and Petunia is shown to be human who married the wrong guy - rather than 'Evil Aunt'. Again, doesn't break canon - just a different angle.
- Magic. Magic is very much a main character in this story and it is epic, deep, a lot of fun and scary sometimes. (one word: Portkeys)
- Epic Cast:
- Dumbledore is awesome. As in, 'I am so awesome, I occasionally forget these are people I'm working with'. Very much in keeping with the original concept in the books - epic power coupled with the ability to make mistakes just like everyone else.
- Flitwick is Cool. As in Filus 'WarHammer' Flitwick - three times Master dueler, one of DB's team when he took down GW and Head of House for the geniuses of the magic world - and still managing to surprise and teach them (Why do so many authors forget that?).
- All the other Characters are similarly Canon compliant with epic angles.... Voldemort is scary here and so far he's only 'QMort'. Oh and Severus lovers should probably stay away - Snape is definitely the Death Eater in teacher's clothing here - as he was through the books - until DH pulled that fake 'secretly noble' crap, which I could never buy as true to the character.
- Harry isn't the only 'Hero' either. Hermy is impressive as are a number of other usually bit part characters such as Lisa Turpin and Neville. Harry isn't always the one taking the lead.
- Goblins. The author admits to using Klingons as a template. Gives them a serious feeling of something more than the usual here.
- Character's are learning and growing with the story. No 'epic zap of power' here.
Things which are irritating: - Harry is too comfortable with people and magic for a practical shut in and abuse victim, although he did get out more than in canon. He's also too mature. The other 11 year old's are the same. Granted this is 'explained' by the fact that Harry has seen power/magic all his life and worked out how to manipulate it pre-hogwarts - but I still think he's too smart. (However, it's nowhere near 'Rationality' levels of absurdity or arrogance.)
- Story is slow. 28 chapters and we're still in the first half of 'Philosopher's Stone'
- First 20 Chapters have been split across 2 FF pages.
So yes, mileage may vary. But I'm enjoying it.
