http://www.equestriadaily...ia-project-horizons.html well I'm certainly not mad watcher wasn't the pony I thought they were. Read for yourself and find out! -Terry ----- "so listen up boy, or pornography starring your mother will be the second worst thing to happen to you today" TF2: Spy
I trawled this thread in search of a fic. I have failed to find it.
However, I did note s3yang questioning my presence here - I may have given at some point the impression that I did not care for the ponies, but I was merely trying to keep them from flooding every facet of the board. Hoofprints in every thread, I tells yah. So, I remember in my meat brain reading a 'Human in Equestria' fic. The human in question is an Afghanistan war vet, and rides either a Suzuki or Kawasaki - I forget which, and searches for both on fimfiction.net and EQ Daily didn't net me anything. And, to keep the wheat/chaff ratio up, I have a batch of fic reccomendations! Worst on first. This fic is Rated M, for explicit and nonconsensual content. It is not safe for work, and NSFW. It does, however, have a half-decent chance of turning into a well-written semi-serious look at some of the consequences of the sort of behavior commonly presented in 'mature' fan fictions. The Back Room Worst-Written but best premise - Time Travel! Scootabuse! This fic is rated pg-13 at the worst. The writing is a touch rough, but the overall impression is hilarious. There's a spinoff/alternate ending floating around that's a nice cap on it, I'll make note if I run into it. Double Rainbow - WHAT DOES IT MEAN My Little PTerry. No warnings - pg-13 due to semi-serious handling of Death. Binky Pie This one's a gem. Twilight gets roped into participating in a dating service. Things proceed reliably sideways. Some smut, some mature themes. Call it a light M, NSFW. U-Harmony "No can brain today. Want cheezeburger." *reads the U-Harmony one* Bwaaa haa haa haa haa
I recognize the fic Wire's talking about, but I'm spacing on the title myself.

Ponies go ludicrously well with anything. That said, RHPS also goes ludicrously well with anything, and the most impressive thing about this combination (asides from the inherent hilarity of Sweet Transvestite) is the skill with which they were synchronized.

Off the top of my head - die Wolkenritter did go world-hopping in search of linker cores. How many pages do you think they could get off Twilight Sparkle?

Anyone have any idea what might happen if Doug were to hear this song? ----- Stand between the Silver Crystal and the Golden Sea. "Youngsters these days just have no appreciation for the magnificence of the legendary cucumber." --Krityan Elder, Tales of Vesperia.
Jorlem, thank you for the song. It just made my day (I'm a big Eurobeat fan).
And no, this is one song that, if it gives Doug powers, should NEVER be played. -People may die, but ideas are forever. Je suis Charlie. Seraviel Wrote:Jorlem, thank you for the song. You can find it all here, or here, or via youtube.? Here's one of my favorite songs that he's done, that ties with the Discord one in my mind:? Okay, having now gone over the entirety of Project Horizons, I can say that while *very good*, I don't believe it to be as, well, smoothly put together as FO:E. I suppose what sticks out most is that last scene with Watcher in chapter 23. His reveal seemed sudden and upsetting, as opposed to FO:E's own reveal of him, which had a lot more suspense and emotion to it. But then, I also suppose that most of the readers of PH already knew who he was, so....
WRT Discord as a Doug song, knowing Discord, knowing Doug, and hearing the song, I'd see it doing something like the following.
- Locks his conscious mind out. For the duration of the song, he's a passenger in his own body. Also, said body is suspended, spread-eagled, and unable to move, hanging in midair. - Lets his subconscious and/or id out. It cranks *way* up on that tendency towards "wacky" he has, but it's still him in there. The magic won't attack anyone he cares about, for example - unless they do something to piss him off. - Somewhere along the way, it makes him something close enough to a trickster deity that he's able to hijack some of the power that's meant for them. This has predictable effects on the attitudes of the mind in control of the whole situation. It also tends to leave them rather annoyed at him when it's all over. If trickster deities aren't on the menu, it'll do the best it can with what it can find. The influence of Tyranny is available as a backup if there is simply no trickster in the world at all (and wouldn't that be a vicious thing to find out the first time it went down). If he happens to be in a world with a trickster deity of tyranny, that being finds it really *very* easy to influence the goings-on for the duration. - Takes that power and gives the mind in power effective omnipotence within the Standard Doug Radius for the duration of the song. Worth noting that this omnipotence includes the ability to fly Doug (and thus the radius) around very quickly. - At the end of the song, Doug comes out of it feeling.. energized. Refreshed. Perhaps even invigorated - which is good, as the perverse and chaotic mind that is in control during the song likes to take those last few moments setting things up so that it'll be *funny* when he gets back in control of his own body. So... it's basically a "crossed the Godzilla threshold" song. At best, the mind in control is in general agreement with the things Doug cares about the most, and tends not to kill unless it has some reason. Still, the collateral damage to the vicinity and to secondary concerns is likely to be immense - and that's without the "and Tyranny too" kickers. Why yes, I *do* enjoy coming up with songs that might be useful sometimes, but that canon Doug would never ever use. Why do you ask?
So the basic effect is like Doug donned 'The Mask'?
