It's been on my list of things to check out, but I've put it off since:

 1) there is a lot of it, and

 2) I've been told the quality varies greatly (some are absolutely fantastic, others... aren't)

Hi Thee over to FIMFiction, http://www.fimfiction.net/user/Anonsi
read from the bottom up. The Conversion Bureau: Yellowstone, followed by TCB: Yellowstone: The Series

In order, please. Chatoyance is swiftly becoming my favorite TCB author.

TCB is interesting, especially if the writer can remember that the source Earth is a dystopia and not "right here, right now."
That said, I have two bunnies for TCB that I'm leaving aside for my attempts to kickstart IWATDP and MLPFIM: Hesperides.

TCB #1: A Groom in Search of a Bridle Shower: Story of an older human (man or woman, doesn't really matter) who was part of the "horsie set" or worked as a groom/farrier/veterinarian long ago and is providing grooming services for NBEs and newfoals before his/her own conversion in two weeks.

TCB #2: Milady: SCA/Renfaire type goes up on the roof of his ponification clinic, not realizing that the mare he sees looking up at the moon/night sky is Princess Luna who is there for the 100,000th conversion scheduled for the next day. Discusses the night sky, and Romantic Chivalry. He discovers he's fond of her and requests "his lady's favour" for luck for his conversion and makes a cheesy romantic promise... that will have Consequences

Nice placement on the Orbital Freindship Cannon in the ... I almost just abbreviated it to EQ40K (for Equestria) but that brings to mind a different crossover, really. Time to head over to CTSNB?

Every author puts his or her own spin on the whole thing, too. There are a good number of TCB stories that I haven't read because their descriptions are completely contrary to what I enjoy in a Pony story, but with many indications pointing to technical excellence. (The stuff I've read ranges from moderately entertaining to utterly brilliant.)

You know it occurs to me that with the way PMMM works there must have been a girl that wished for ponies at some point. And that is how Equestaria was made. (CTSNB?)E: "Did they... did they just endorse the combination of the JSDF and US Army by showing them as two lesbian lolicons moving in together and holding hands and talking about how 'intimate' they were?"
B: "Have you forgotten so soon? They're phasing out Don't Ask, Don't Tell."
