My Fifth Plot Pony: Friendship Killed My Parents

Three stories I have been following, all variants of Godzilla-threshold situations where a villain shows up but might turn out to be a better ruler than the people they depose.
Rebel Against the Night: A Code Geass crossover.  When Luna gets hit with the broad-spectrum frienship beam, Nightmare Moon is spit off into a separate creature and sent to another world.  Shocked at the rampant violence and hatred of this world, she sets out to turn it into something closer to harmonious Equestria, which includes reshaping the ugly-ape natives into more pleasing and familiar forms.  Keep in mind she's still a mad goddess and has no inclination to be nice or gentle about this.  Meanwhile the natives still have their old hatreds and conflicts, with new problems and divisions on top of that, and the major Code Geass players still pursue their objectives with no idea of the magnitue of the Outside Context Problem that has just fallen upon them.
Shinji's Nightmare: As above, but she goes to the NGE and her attentions and alterations are primarily directed at Shinji.  Materal gets posted to Spacebattles before it goes on other sites.
A Dream of Dawn: The friendship beam doesn't quite work, the Nightmare rules over eternal night, and Equestria slowly withers away under frost and famine.  With no way to defeat the Madmare of the Moon or recover Celestia, the little ponies must turn to...Discord.

No, I don't believe the world has gone mad.  In order for it to go mad it would need to have been sane at some point.

An unusual crossover that I found rather heartwarming: The Name is Spike (MLP / BtVS)
Also, I stumbled across that story while looking for this one shot: Discord's Morning Glory (also MLP / BtVS)

Given what the video is supposed to portray, the creepy is probably intentional.

It's a poem by Edgar Allen Poe.

Come little children

I'll take thee away, into a land

of Enchantment

Come little children

the time's come to play

here in my garden

of Shadows

Follow sweet children

I'll show thee the way

through all the pain and

the Sorrows

Weep not poor childlen

for life is this way

murdering beauty and

Passions

Hush now dear children

it must be this way

to weary of life and

Deceptions

Rest now my children

for soon we'll away

into the calm and

the Quiet

Come little children

I'll take thee away, into a land

of Enchantment

Come little children

the time's come to play

here in my garden

of Shadows

As far as I can tell from looking around online, there are quite a few people saying that poem is falsely attributed to Poe, as it does not appear in any of his collected works, or fit his writing style. The opening verses are sung in the Disney movie Hocus Pocus, and everyone I can find that says it was not by Poe says that it was written for the movie. Anyone happen to have a copy of the movie, so they can check to see who is credited for the lyrics?

IMDB unfortunately doesn't have a credit for authorship of the song. Some online sources suggest John Debney, composer of the film's soundtrack, wrote it, but the soundtrack CD of his work for the movie doesn't include it. I found http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/hocus-po ... ney-79095/]a page that indicates that James Horner wrote the music; he was originally tapped to do the film's soundtrack and had to back out due to scheduling conflicts, but completed the song before that happened, and it was left in. The same page and source attributes the lyrics to Brock Walsh, who did the other original songs for the film.

As lullaby's or children's songs go, it's not as bad as Rock-a-bye Baby.
(Who in their right mind puts a baby, in a cradle, on top of a tree?)
E. A. Poe would be considered a sociopath in this "Modern Age".

Rarity would probably hire him.  "He has such a flair for manestyling.  It matches perfectly with my stunning designs, if I do say so myself."

You do know that Rock-a-Bye Baby is a riddle, right? If you don't know what the answer to it is, think about the standard illustration in the typical Mother Goose collection.

I have never before heard of Rockabye Baby being a riddle, and your hint fails to hint me, since every cover illustration of a Mother Goose collection I've ever seen that didn't show a goose took the lullaby literally.

If you're paying attention, the "Mother Goose" Stories and poems are all cautionary tales, and horror stories.

So, don't put your baby in a tree, then?

Oh, you have got to be kidding me. Every illustration for that rhyme that I ever  saw when I was growing up had the cradle as a walnut shell, admittedly with a baby in it, but an obvious walnut shell, nevertheless. That image search has maybe two possibly walnut shells (or possibly baskets; it's hard to tell) and a whole bunch of traditional cradles. The answer to the riddle is a nut. The cradle is the shell and the baby is the nut meat.

I don't quite get how you can get from the lyrics of the poem to the walnut thing, without having those specific pictures in front of you. Anyway, back to ponies.

I don't think anyone has mentioned this tumblr yet in this thread: http://heckyeahponyscans.tumblr.com/

It is a collection of scans of comics and other material from previous generations, mostly G1. Some highlights include:
