I can't recall if this has been recced yet, but it has been updated recently, so if it has been recced, consider this to an update alert.
Lost Tales from the Silmareillion: Morgoth in Equestria (Do I really need to say it?)
Also, do we have a webcomic rec thread floating around? I'd like to rec this comic by Fred Perry and Robby Bevard, which is inspired by FiM and Adventure Time.

So, from the "Silly Tolkien Crossovers" thread on SJGames: "These talking ponies would be the perfect choice. After all they don't have fingers!"
So of course my mind jumps immediately to: Twilight wearing the One Ring on her horn. FEAR.
Or, possibly worse: Rarity.
Hm. Celestia as Galadriel? And maybe now we know what happened to Luna.
Would Twilight be a better ring-bearer, using her raw intellect to combat the temptations of the Ring? Or perhaps Cadence, using her Love Avatar nature to resist (plus the added bonus of having Shiny as her Samwise).

Her connection to the earth would give her the same sort of resistance as hobbits have.

I just had a thought, and it was "Why Trollestia?"
Then I remembered Discord's burn, "I don't turn ponies into stone..." because, of course, he is Change, and the princesses, even Nightmare Moon, are very much Order - but too much order is stagnation, just a society of garden statues.
So, I figure Celly went and learned a sense of humor like she sent Twi to learn freindship. She still doesn't quite get it, and sometimes goes too far (coughfluttershypheonixcough) but it keeps things from turning to stone.

Out of curiosity, has anyone seen any sign of the inevitable MLP/Homestuck crossovers? I say "inevitable" because fandom is incestuous and people will cross/ship anything with anything.

I don't hold with Dada.
Sometimes I do like to put things together that are not normally together to illustrate a point. This might be what I see as the fundamental absurdity of some issue or another.
Seriously, I would not at all mind the Discordians coming into conflict with the hate speech regulatory schemes of a number of nations. Or at least a long drawn out legal dispute over whether the Discordians are being adequately protected. When one doesn't actually like either party...
Now that Disney has Star Wars, it would be interesting to see if their lawyers could be convinced to come into conflict with all the people who said their religion was Jedi on the census forms.
Re: 42
It has teachings specific to the sect about the ancient greek theistic entity Eris. It is Theism. Especially considering the primacy it insists its version has over the Greek version.
It wouldn't be thrown out, depending on the jurisdiction, if Discordians were to openly do the sort of things that get the wheels of justice greased for this sort of law. Some jurisdictions might not even need that.
Some might call these actions murder, terrorism, and acts of war. However, remember the portfolio of Ares. His minions Phobos and Deimos? Fear and Terror*. To call these acts illegal, to make these acts criminal is to interfere with the free practice of religion by the followers of Ares.
*(IIRC. My Greek is probably worse than my French. I'm monolingual, the closest I come to a second language is Latin**, and I watch anime.)
Take one part Moe Lane's In Nomine write up of Stalingrad. Overlay onto Stalliongrad without otherwise changing the setting. Now you have part of an adventure for your Pony RPG in The City of Walking Statues.
**I had this written out well before the Latin stuff came up in that other thread.

Rather random question: Is "Golden Oaks" an offical canon name for the Ponyville library, or something that sprang out of fanon and somehow became established in common use.

No, I don't believe the world has gone mad. In order for it to go mad it would need to have been sane at some point.

There are two competing names for the "Twibrary:"
Books and Branches
and
Golden Oaks.
The latter has deuterocanonical support in the Trading cards and the "children's storytime" storybook app.
