We're on two different pages for the FoZ/AMS I think - mine has K1's family native to Halkeginia. I do agree Megumi is probably the best for a 'summoned as familiar' crossover, and worry for her would be enough to hook the other main cast in, or curiosity over what they're up to now and how to mess it up for Marller & co.

As for Vash's bullets, it's not like there aren't craptons of Earth mages and Alchemists around to make new cases/slugs and smokeless powder.

The Pacific Rim Job : Cooper Minis Vs. Kaiju . They don't assemble into a giant Cooper-Bot. A breach is involved : it's not the monster's.

Mythbusters: Jamie and Adam test Kaiju myths, made possible because there are now actual Kaiju to test against.

I'd expect that figuring out where kaiju are more likely to appear to preposition defenses would be a high priority of the jaeger program, if this is still on the premise of being PacRim-verse Mythbusters. Quite likely all they had to do was pitch it at some point when there was at least some sort of plan being made to capture one for study.

Of course there were those kind of plans, practical or not someone would draw up the contingency, and with the financial burden possible ad dollars may also appeal.

In much the same way that Mars Attacks! showed Martians could be killed by country-western "music," so kaiju turn out to be ultra-vulnerable to ... stand-up comedy.  Eddie Murphy, Steve Martin, Robin Williams, Andrew Dice Clay, and wise but shell-shocked veteran Don Rickles (you gotta have a wise veteran in flicks like this) are weapons of mass kaiju-destruction in Pacific Rimshot.

Getting back to kaiju tropism, in the Superguy shared universe it's actually the smell of the fixative polymer in the brand of cheap fiberboard (and as general glue) used to fix Tokyo after its frequent destruction that attracts kaiju. Unfortunately it's the only economically viable option, and kaiju are only a once a month sort of thing while stupidly powerful teenagers (in every sense) wreck the place two or three times a week.

Noteable for it's even less inspired remake with a female protagonist, The Superfreak.

(Preview narration tones of low menace)"She's a very kinky girl... the kind you don't bring home to Mother!"

Nazi what I meant
Grindhouse Nazi telepods are powered by such esoteric devices as the right hand of Hellboy (tm), the skull of Stalin (no tm) or a mountain of albino hell-puppies.

Do you have to set the chamber holding the mountain of hell-puppies to "Frappe" in order to use it? You know, like the Sacrifice Cannon from Maps?

It depends on the Nazis
If they are honest, boring Grindhouse Nazis, the setting on the the Frankenstein switch is labelled 'MURDER' : if they are happy, insane Grindhouse Nazis (the best, most entertaining type. The Red Skull should be of this genus.), the setting is, ROMP.

Let's swap an early-rampancy Durandal (Marathon) with Doorknobder (Sailor Moon S), and see if anyone notices.
Doorknobder's a daimon, and Durandal runs daemons, so that's perfect right?
