Not aware if this has been updated. Fairly long Naruto AU, with Naruto being raised by Obito and Rin.

A VERY OLD "new" fic recommendation.
Just a very quick message and in terms of this BBS a very very old "new" fic recommendation.

I hadn't realized these two classics were in the public domain and that they were now archived by the Gutenburg Project.

The two are by Philip_Francis_Nowlan and I feel very secure in saying all members of this board have seen these two science fiction novellas or the main hero
used in multiple formats of entertainment.

If you read the two novellas remember they were written by a man born in 1888 and who died in 1940. He published them in the mid to late 1920's roughly 15
years before world war two.

Oh my yes. I read a 1970s paperback edition of Armageddon 2419 AD back in high school. Very interesting from many many points of view.

Then the horns kicked in...
...and my shoes began to squeak.

I have both the original versions and a 1970s edition that's been slightly rewritten to marginally improve the science and recast the Han as alien hybrids

What is less well known: Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle wrote an outline for four volumes of sequels to that edited version of Nowlan's original, which
were fully written by Richard MacEnroe (the first three) and John Silbersack (the last) and published in the late 1970s. (Niven and Pournelle took the liberty
of making Rogers' world the aftermath of their own Lucifer's Hammer.)

Mordred, Warriors' Blood, Warriors' World, and Rogers' Rangers. All decent reads if you can find 'em. [Image: smile.gif]

"Not so fast, naughtyspawn!"

I got a hold of the original version of Nowlans two stories in 1978 or 1979 just about the time I became a teenager. Then later as a college student in the mid
1980's I found the four based on the Niven and Pournelle outline in a used book store.

I remember liking the stories, but thought the change in righting style was to jarring and disjointed to be a true following of the Nowlans stories.

I never considered them to be true sequels to Nowlans work, just good books from a parallel universe that was close to the universe Nowlan had written about..

That view is almost certainly my own fault, to celebrate finding the 4 books in a used book store I dug out my book with Nowlans two original stories and a set
of notes with my ideas for continuing Rogers adventures. I reread those notes and the book then immediately started on the 4 books and was very disappointed,
I liked my ideas better.

As far as the Han being Alien hybrids that didn't bother me, but I had at least one idea that used that concept.

Check his LJ, he has more there.

I've just found an extremely good series of fics about the Touhou series of doujin games. I don't know if someone not familiar with it would get the
same enjoyment, but it's a must for any fans.

In Stories, Retelling of Oriental Stories.

The stories are, basically, a retelling of the story of the games with a lot more character development than the games have and some pretty interesting
interpretations of the characters, there are also a few very good short stories.

Great Ninja Onizuka crossing GTO! / Naruto / Fist of the North Star / Azumanga Daioh

"Attention." the man in white said quietly, so quietly, they had to strain to hear him as he raised his fists, "I am Great Teacher Onizuka!
Everybody shut the fuck up today. On a normal day I would not care if you listen to me or not or just chat like monkey rats. But today, I am hung-over. So shut
up and take your lessons or I'll inflict corporeal punishment on you til you piss blood and vomit up shit. Thank you. On days when I am not hung over, you
may call me Iruka-sensei. Today, do not talk. AT ALL."

Nay! twenty, or possibly more.

But then it... just...stops.... And the Author Profile more or less says there won't be a sequel

...That's just wrong.....

Yeah, sucks that he won't continue it.

OTOH, interesting rant on Sasuke in his profile.

Quote: Posted Great Ninja Onizuka. It's a stand-alone story, completed. I'm saving all my revision/editing energy for my novel, so I'm not doing the
usual revision process for GNO. The follow-ups will probably be added a long time from now, in between revisions of the novel.
The word follow ups suggests strongly that while the fic is complete, that there are sequel works.

Two missions with drastic consequences. Worlds connect, destinies unravel, and nothing will ever be the same. HPNTO crossover like you've never seen! Set
pre series Harry Potter and Kakashi Gaiden Naruto.

with the sequel:

A personal matter can never stay personal forever. Voldemort is wreaking havoc, Kakashi is learning about a mysterious people known only as Elementals, Harry
is trying not to get involved, and being declared AWOL is the least of their troubles.
