Showing off photos...
Showing off photos...
#1
Went around the city with my nephew yesterday morning - I took photos while he got more time in to qualify for his IFR rating. Out of 190 shots, two were horridly overexposed (glare from the morning sun on the windows), most were so-so, and 28 were what I consider good enough to show off. One of those 28 was, in my humble opinion, very good - here's a half-size version of part of it:

That's just one photo, and I did title this thread "Showing off photos..." Anyone else have some good recent photos you'd want to share?

*whistles*

Only thing I've got is a few photos from a recent Kenai trip, some before/after of my new monitors.. nothing worth linking to again.

Have to take some pics this weekend.

Nothing like that!! I have a whole potload of images in my Imageshack account, but their all related to the work I do for the Theme Park Builder 3D project.

That's Parliment house in Ontario, Canada, Innit?

Yes, those are the parliment buildings in Ottawa. The view is looking south from over the Ottawa river, or possibly Gatineau depending on the zoom Rob was
using.

We were 1500 feet above the north shore of the Ottawa River when I took that one, so I guess you could say we were over Gatineau. My cropping this from a 10-megapixel image makes it look like we were closer.

Yes, they are the Parliament Buildings, on Parliament Hill in downtown Ottawa. They're Canada's equivalent to the Capitol Building in Washington (which, I understand, you aren't allowed to get this close to in an aircraft). You can also see the north end of the Rideau Canal (oldest still-functional canal of its type in the world) in the lower-left corner of the image, and the Bytown Museum (Ottawa's oldest stone building) between the canal and The Hill.

(Do people think I set the bar too high with this one? C'mon, folks, share your photos, please...)

I would but all pictures I have are analogue or pictures of whiteboards taken on my mobile phone camera. Granted the contents of the whiteboards are spiffy but
they are also nonsensical to most people.
E: "Did they... did they just endorse the combination of the JSDF and US Army by showing them as two lesbian lolicons moving in together and holding hands and talking about how 'intimate' they were?"

speaking of 'nonsensical to most people', a large part of the images (the goofy filenamed ones) in http://www.tertiary.net/wiregeek are CoH screenies - with the new compy setup, I'm starting to develop a rep as a
CoH photographer...

Speaking off... I see little difference between the before and after shots. though I find it almost amusing that at least one of your units runs hot enough to
need such a large external aux cooling unit.

Errrr..

Oh! the 120mm fan on the front of Tarkin!

I replaced the monitors - before is a pair of 20" widescreens, after is a pair of 26" widescreens.

the 120 is there primarily to reduce noise. Compared to 80mm or 60mm fans, it's practically silent. The machine in question is on 24/7, so a quiet fan was
a necessity.
